Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Officer to join our Financial Operations team. The Accounts Officer will be responsible for performing various accounting and financial tasks, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Job Accountabilities
As Accounts Officer, your role will involve:
Process day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, expense reports, and reimbursements.
Handle Petty cash floats and proper bookkeeping of reimbursed expenses.
Reconcile financial discrepancies and investigate any variances or issues to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and clearing from SAP.
Process policyholder and vendor payments through effective usage of SAP system.
Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing financial data, analyzing trends, and preparing reports.
Assist with the preparation of audit documentation and provide support during internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Purchasing, Sales, and Operations, to resolve financial-related queries and provide support as needed.
Undertake a range of clerical, administrative, and other duties as required to support the team.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and recommend process improvements.
Job Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are a plus.
Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role. Experience with computerized accounting systems is desirable.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using accounting software, SAP, and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
Proactive and self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and systems.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
