Overview of the role
The Information Solution Architect is responsible for providing technical guidance to development teams and oversee the technical aspects of the delivery of the data solutions, aligned with Group IT strategy and defined architecture patterns and principles.
The person will also be responsible and accountable for developing the overall solution design and managing data and analytics solutions architecture that enable the organization to harness the data insights for various LOBs across organization.
The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional team, including data scientist, data governance, data analysts, data engineers and business stakeholders, to understand their requirements and deliver effective data-driven solutions, ensuring data integrity, accessibility and security throughout the data lifecycle.
What you will do
Develop data and analytics architecture that align with business objectives.
Design solutions that meet Functional and Non-Functional requirements whilst adhering to Architecture principles and Technology standards and align with the data and analytics strategy.
Propose data models, storage optimization, improve data flow pipelines.
Provide guidance to the data engineers.
Validate technical effort estimations and review technical specification documentation.
Supervise and oversee the technical aspects of projects.
Participate in RFI/RFP process and evaluates technical capabilities and commercial prudence of vendors/solutions to recommend right fit.
Accountable for owning the design and creating the required documentation to submit to the Solution Design Approval Forum in to get design approval.
Takes the lead in ensuring the Non-Functional requirements are captured and implemented in a optimal way.
Provide advice on supplier and cost options, ensures that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and considered in any RFI/RFPs process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof-of-concept solutions.
Collaborate with data analysts and visualization experts to present data insights in a clear and intuitive manner through dashboards and reports
Required Skills to be successful
Deep knowledge of the data modelling, data marketplace, data virtualization, data visualization
Proven experience in data management, data engineering or similar role
Proficiency in database design, SQL, T-SQL, Azure data Cloud and Azure Technology Stacks
Experience on Cloud Architecture covering IaaS, PaaS and SaaS based applications, ideally using Microsoft Azure.
Experience in SAP space is a plus.
Experience in ETL tools and data integration patterns/techniques
Experience in the design and implementation of multiple integration patterns covering SOA and APIs.
Familiarity with data governance and data security best practices
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on person, dynamic environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical and creative in solving problems, experience in using design thinking.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident presenter with a high degree of comfort in front of audiences of all sizes and able to translate complex subjects in a simple manner (Senior Executives, IT management and developers)
Leadership and teamwork skills with strong experience of working collaboratively in an agile environment using SCRUM, Kanban, etc to deliver new products and services.
Understanding of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks, such as TOGAF or Zachman, including the development of architecture principles and standards
Industry recognised Data & Analytics certification
What equips you for the role
• Degree in Computer Science/IT/similar
• 10+ years of work experience in a data projects or data engineering related position
• Experience in a similar role with full autonomy
