Your new role, what's involved?
Ensure all maritime documents, including bills of lading, manifests, and customs paperwork, are accurately prepared and compliant with local and international regulations.
Stay updated on changes in maritime laws and regulations and ensure the company's adherence to them.
Coordinate and manage the logistics of shipping and receiving goods via maritime routes.
Collaborate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing shipment status updates, and resolving any issues that may arise during the transportation process.
Contribute to the optimization of the supply chain by identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
Work with internal teams to streamline processes related to maritime logistics.
Identify potential risks associated with maritime operations and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
Monitor and manage insurance claims related to maritime shipments.
Analyze data related to maritime operations to identify trends, assess performance, and make informed recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, finance, and operations to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders including shipping agencies, port authorities, and customs officials.
Monitor and control costs associated with maritime operations, including shipping fees, customs duties, and other related expenses.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising service quality.
Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure the safe and secure transportation of goods.
Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to make strategic recommendations for business growth.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Civil Engineering, or a related field.
7-10 years of experience in Coastal Engineering, with a focus on project leadership.
Experience in hydrodynamic modeling and coastal engineering analysis.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in coastal engineering.
