Your day-to-day:
Checking reservations daily for compliance to ensure that the minimum response time is maintained for all reservation requests
Ensuring that the quality of reservation is maintained in terms of guest details, rates, payment methods, etc
Planning and using efficient organizational skills to run the daily operation.
To spot-Check reservations made the previous day and Check all VIP arrivals
Understand seasonal and historical trends and work within them to ensure maximum occupancy and best room rates
Identify new contacts, develop sales leads, and respond to sales opportunities to maximise revenue
Produce written confirmation to all clients
Monitor customer satisfaction regularly and resolve any outstanding issues to ensure future business
To keep the department informed of all changes in the customer profile, rates, strategies, promotions and specials
Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge about all IHG Hotels in our region
Prepare and execute action plans that increase reservation sales and associated business
Record and process reservations made by phone/email
Process amendments to reservations such as extensions, early departures, etc
Manage “no-show” reservations by investigating and recording of same
Record special billing arrangements for groups and conventions
Liaise with Front Office Manager or Finance department for all reservations requiring credit approval
Maintain knowledge of special rates/ offers/ promotions
Monitor reservation levels and inform Manager of current and future occupancy rates
Prepare reservation related reports
In the absence of the Manager, conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known to the team
What we need from you:
Minimum 2-3 years experience with the same position in a 5-star hotel
Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Good knowledge in dealing with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
Ability to work on their own or in teams
Positive attitude
Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
