We are presently hiring Director, HSSE Fuels Operating Group for our Fuels business, which is a significant part of the Agri-Food and Commodities portfolio and encompasses all our Oil & Petrochemicals, Coal inspection and testing services. It is a significant portion of our commodities portfolio and includes over 7,000 colleagues, in key locations across Americas, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia-Pacific. The position will be based in Dubai, UAE and reports to the Vice President, Performance, Fuels Operating Group

 

Job Responsibilities

Lead, manage, create programs and audit the HSES function for the Fuels operating group that covers 56 countries.

Set policy and leadership, advices, training\coaching, recommendations and drive specific programs\projects to the Existing HSES Regional Managers and the respective Regional Business Lines.

Validate and ensure that the HSES organization, roles and responsibilities for this network is optimal.

Ensure that there is a high level control culture which reduces risks in all areas of the business and the work conducted by our Employees.

Support all company managers, HSES staff in all regions, countries, and business line in ensuring that Bureau Veritas personnel comply with the HSES Management Systems.

Continually assess, improve, develop prevention and control procedures and processes to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the relevant standards and requirements

To perform regular field inspections and audits in different regions\countries to ensure that the HSES standards are in full compliance.

Create a "Disruption" where required, to ensure that Safety in the Regions are improved.

Conduct incident investigations, reviews root cause analysis, and advice corrective and preventive actions.

 

Key requirements

Degree in Engineering is preferred.  Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering -Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent is an advantage.

At least 10 years of working experience in HSSE function.

At least 5 years’ Experience in managing regional portfolio 

Very Strong Leadership and Influencing skills. 

Able to manage and build good interpersonal relationships with the various stakeholders from different geographies, cultures and languages.

Must be able to read/write and communicate fluently in English.

Ability to converse and communicate in a second language would be advantageous.

Willing and able to travel on short notices when required.
