Role Overview

G42-Smart Nation, Operations is looking for an experienced Operation support Engineer to take challenges

for support and Maintenance of existing, Key Projects/System of new compute and network technologies

across our global production infrastructure footprint. This position will work at a strategic level with internal

and external Operation Team, and other cross-functional teams to develop strategies for integrating new

technologies and to better support existing technologies across the operational fleet.

The operation engineer has to take care of the server environment, which includes installing new servers

and fixing issues with existing servers and services. They also have to help developer teams do the

troubleshooting, respond to and troubleshoot service requests, incidents/problems, incident and service

request escalations. Provides support to systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem

resolution for all of the server/storage/client devices, etc.

Responsibilities

To take care of the server environment, which includes installing new servers and fixing issues with

existing servers and services.

▪ To operate assigned system work, monitor network devices, and perform daily system activities

▪ To work with the vendors for daily system checking and implementation

▪ To monitor and review databases and correct errors or inconsistencies

▪ To generate and export data reports, spreadsheets, and documents as needed

▪ To notify supervisor of system status, applications processing status and of any equipment

requiring maintenance

▪ To troubleshoot the issues with internal team and vendor when occurred

▪ To write and report the daily task to management team

▪ To get trained by vendors to take over the relevant operation knowledge, and take over the key

task from vendors

▪ To perform other related work as required

▪ Identifies operational problems by observing and studying the functioning and performance of

systems.

▪ Provides operational management information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing

operating and engineering trends.

▪ Develops operational solutions by defining, studying, estimating, and testing alternative

approaches.

▪ Anticipates operational problems by studying operating targets, modes of operation, and unit

limitations.

▪ Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading publications, and

participating in professional organizations

Qualifications

Linux Server administration, familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages.

• x86 server hardware administration.

• Kubernetes/Docker operations and administration.

• Networking design and administration.

• MongoDB, MySQL, Redis database administration.

• Familiarity with basic coding, program and design, such as Linux, shell and database

development

• Familiarity with common operating systems and network monitoring programs

• Understanding of relevant programming languages, such as Python, Ruby, Java, C#, or other

languages

• Excellent communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening

• Good collaboration and teamwork skills with internal management team

• Timely response and communication with management team for any immediate problems or

errors

• Active attitude toward new programs and systems

• Strong understanding of operations, services, and applications

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills

• A talent for technical innovation understanding

 

Experience requirement:

• Min. 3 years of experiences in engineering/computer operation and IT area

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field

• A network security certificate is a plus
