Functional Roles and Responsibilities
• Maintain day-to-day financial control over payment processing.
• Highlight and escalate payment processing exceptions to the Function Head and /or relevant parties as per the escalation matrix.
• Ensure accounting and recording of payments is in line with the Group’s accounting policy.
• Review and approve final payment vouchers prior to release of payment.
• Review payments periodically to ensure they are processed in a timely manner and are reconciled with supplier’s statements of accounts.
• Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information while ensuring accuracy of financial statements to the extent applicable.
• Ensure processing deadlines are met as per the Service Level Agreement.
• Ensure timely update of the Process Tracking Register for payments processed and highlight instances of non-compliance with Service Level Agreement, as deemed appropriate.
• Facilitate Internal and External Auditors to satisfactorily conduct audit of payables and implement action plans agreed from qualitative and quantitative audit feedback.
• Discuss and agree the sources of funds to be used for making payments (own funds, credit facilities, LC, forex covers etc.) with the Head of Department on an on-going basis.

- Liaise with Management to improve financial procedures

- Provide input into department’s goal setting process
- Support in checking/Approving payments before it goes for next approvals
People Management Roles and Responsibilities
• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles
• Ensure distribution / proper allocation of work to direct reports and maintain their respective work schedules.
