OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION
Structured Solutions operate from multiple centres with global team providing structured solutions to broad range of clients, including Corporate clients, Financial Institutions, Institutional investors and asset managers, Delivering extensive range of products and solutions across multiple asset classes.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Responsibility for cross asset structured transactions origination, pricing and execution for clients in the Middle East, offering product capabilities of MUFG Group entities, namely MUFG Bank Ltd and MUFG Securities (Dual hatted).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Franchise Development:
Deliver and grow a sustainable, client-focused, primary and secondary business.
Maximise profitability from leveraging and enhancing the Group’s customer franchise.
Work in partnership with Sales, Coverage teams, other Trading groups and Research to deliver products that meet the needs of our clients.
Co-work with the relevant teams in other Group entities to advance the business globally.
In all activities, protect and enhance the firm’s and the Group’s reputation.
Work in partnership with other parts of the Group to deliver franchise and business growth
Products
Provide MUFG institutional investor and corporate clients with cross asset tailored solutions relevant to their needs
Products include Structured Financing (e.g. long term repo, Equity Margin Lending, loan TRS, secured loan, SPV repack, senior secured financing, etc.), Structured Hedging (e.g. financial guarantee, derivatives for liability hedging etc.) and Structured Derivatives (asset swaps, TRS etc.) solutions, as well as Structured Notes issued by MUFG companies (MUS(EMEA)/MUSHD/MUFG Bank…) or other third party issuers. They also include repackaging various type of collateral and providing asset, interest rate and cross currency swap to adapt and transform, credit, interest, liquidity and currency risk for the need of investors
Supporting MUFG Bank and other MUFG companies by providing the above products and solutions to their clients, including structuring O&D/OtD transactions and balance sheet optimisation transactions
Responsibilities
Work in close coordination with Relationship Managers to effectively manage the applicable FI clients with the objective of pro-actively originating deals to enhance returns, increase wallet share and broaden client base in MENA.
Originate, Structure and distribute for the above mentioned business
Understand how financial conditions, economic policy and regulation affect a client’s needs for financial services.
Originate sound and value-based client relationships with a view to optimizing key gross revenues and balance scorecard targets are achieved.
Perform duties as relationship manager in accordance with the MUFG rules and procedures, including, without limitation, credit rules for overseas offices, procedures for credit ratings, procedures related to risk management and compliance, and applicable circulars from time to time.
Continue to handle required items, interacting with MUFG’s outer divisions, offices and/or branches, MUSI, Trust, Morgan Stanley and entities outside of MUFG to execute your roles and responsibilities as structured deal originator in Coverage.
Proactive transaction pipeline management. Assist the team head in being able to communicate and update the CEO of GCIB for Middle East regularly on developments by providing regular reports and MI relating to the area of responsibility.
Have frequent communication with clients and collect information. Report/communicate/share collected information and result of analysis to relevant parties in the Bank in an appropriate and timely manner.
Other ad-hoc tasks as requested by the CEO of GCIB MENA and senior management as appropriate.
Implement a marketing plan for client coverage focused on originating structured transactions through regular and periodic clients visits and document/communicate the same through comprehensive call memo.
At the request of the team leader, CEO of GCIB Middle East or senior management, conduct a thorough investigation into existing or prospective Bank and Non-bank financial institutions, industries etc.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Previous experience of being deal originator for structured solutions business across asset classes within the Middle East region.
Excellent understanding of the Investment, Treasury and Corporate banking business in the region.
Sound Global Markets product knowledge
A proven track-record of achieving business development targets
EDUCATION
University Degree or equivalent
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent understanding of a broad spectrum of investment banking, Global Markets, Corporate Banking and other financing businesses, and technical skill to structure solutions across asset classes.
Solution driven mindset.
Proven track record of building and maintaining internal and external relationships
Experience in customer relations as a banker including proactively maintaining regular contact with clients, identifying business opportunities, maintaining good credit control, alert to the market and media
Proven ability to cross sell banking products
Knowledge in syndication, project finance, trade finance, derivatives and debt capital markets etc
Fluency in English both written and oral and preferable to be fluent in Arabic
Excellent time management and quality assurance of own work

PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES
The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity’s performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.
As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and emended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.
MANAGING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST (ONLY FOR DUAL HATTED ROLES)
The role holder will have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.
The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour.
The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of MUFG Bank and MUS.
Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc and any other relevant agreements entered into between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.
The role holder will have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.
