Job Description:
Assistant Resident Engineer (Roads & Infrastructure)
AL Dhafra Region, Abu Dhabi
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be working in roads and infrastructure projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Being the focal point between Client and the contractors.
Ensuring that contractor is complying with project standard and regulations.
Supervising the regular activities of assets surveying and as built drawings and making sure that everything is up to date as per the regulations.
Reviewing submittals, shop drawings and following-up the sites’ work.
Communicating with architects and engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
Ensuring that all sites’ activities are documented through a proper and updated reporting system.
Performs well-defined field engineering assignments primarily involving constructability reviews and the observation of work in progress.
Maintains first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards.
Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline, coordinates application of solutions.
Monitors discipline construction schedules and assists in progress appraisal.
Provides schedule and progress appraisal data to the Resident Engineer
Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
Ensures that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.
Maintains a daily log for permanent record of project construction, as well as discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
Prepare progress report.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
What Required Skills You'll Bring :
B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering or or any other related engineering field.
Minimum of 12 years practical experience with no less than a 8 years’ experience in related roads, infrastructure and bridges experience.
Demonstrable experience in all aspects of supervision on major civil, roads and infrastructure and projects.
Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
Requires a working knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices
