Electrical Technician

Your Opportunity
We are looking to hire an Electrical Technician who will carry out all given planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and carry out remedial repairs on building services and power systems electrical assets and associated equipment.
The ideal candidate should have advance knowledge in electrical equipment, power supply and distributions systems along with associated lighting and control systems in a commercial buildings or hospital or other facilities management building services engineering environment with good verbal and written communication skills in English language.
This role will work closely with our technical team and stakeholders in one of our prestigious contracts in Dubai - MELABS
Key accountabilities
Carry out the planned and reactive maintenance on the electrical services and systems such as, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, switchgear, motors, pumps, control panels, instrumentation EPMS (Electrical Power Management System), BMS (Building Management System), HV (High Voltage), MV (Medium Voltage) LV (Low Voltage) power distribution systems including, IPS (Isolated Power Supply), UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), generators, and other associated plant
Carry out 24-hour on-call responsibility for incidents (only if there is any emergency) within the department
Manage all PPM tasks according to the PPM schedule and ensure that CAN notifications are kept in advance
Assist in monitoring electrical consumption, collation of consumption figures, and update central records as required
Monitor, rectify and/or repair electrical systems and services and maintain and update records daily
Carry out maintenance and repair activities as directed by the line manager and adhere to Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures.
Specific requirements
Minimum three (3) years of experience with advance knowledge in electrical equipment, power supply and distributions systems along with associated lighting and control systems in a commercial buildings or hospital or other facilities management building services engineering environment
Holder of Diploma in Electrical Engineering and/or Electrical Facilities Management
Vocational training certificate in electrical building services, power and distribution or other relevant and recognized qualifications in the electrical operation, maintenance, and repair.
Strong communication skills and there will be a high level of accountability to manage, report and escalate any incident or event that may have an impact on services.
Proficient and able to provide relevant technical support
A high competency in English language skills, excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Able to foster good relations with colleagues and other departments and be a good team player.
Ability to maintain employee, contractors, and customer confidentiality
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
