Job Description:
The Cyber Security professional is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the organization's information systems and data. This role involves monitoring, detecting, and mitigating cyber threats, as well as implementing security measures to safeguard sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:
Threat Detection and Monitoring:
Monitor network traffic for signs of suspicious or unauthorized activity.
Use intrusion detection systems and security information and event management (SIEM) tools to identify and respond to security incidents.
Vulnerability Assessment:
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the organization's systems.
Collaborate with IT teams to remediate vulnerabilities and strengthen security.
Security Policies and Procedures:
Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
Educate employees about security awareness and compliance with security policies.
Incident Response:
Develop and maintain an incident response plan to address security breaches.
Investigate security incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend improvements to prevent future incidents.
Security Tools Management:
Manage and maintain security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption technologies.
Stay updated on the latest security trends and technologies.
Security Awareness Training:
Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees about cyber threats and safe online practices.
Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
Prepare for and participate in security audits.
Security Reporting:
Generate regular reports on security metrics and incidents for management and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or CEH may be required or preferred.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
