Job Title: Senior Site Inspector

Job Summary:
As a Senior Site Inspector at Atkins in Abu Dhabi, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects by overseeing and inspecting construction activities on-site. You will be responsible for ensuring that construction works comply with the approved plans, specifications, and relevant codes and standards. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and strong communication skills will be vital in maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Site Inspection: Conduct regular inspections at construction sites to ensure compliance with project plans, technical specifications, and safety standards. Verify the quality of workmanship and materials used in construction.
Quality Assurance and Control: Monitor and enforce quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure that construction works meet the required standards and specifications.
Compliance Verification: Review and verify that construction activities comply with local building codes, regulations, and permits.
Progress Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager and other stakeholders, highlighting any issues, delays, or deviations from the approved plans.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, engineering principles, and construction materials. Be well-versed in interpreting project drawings and specifications.
Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues and discrepancies on-site in collaboration with the project team.
Safety Oversight: Promote and enforce a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure smooth coordination and project delivery.
Site Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspection reports, and relevant documentation for future reference.
Client Relations: Interact with clients, contractors, and relevant authorities professionally to address concerns and provide project updates.
Training and Mentoring: Support junior site inspectors and contribute to their professional development through mentoring and training.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
A minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in construction site inspection, with at least 4 years in a senior role.
Proven experience in overseeing large-scale construction projects in Abu Dhabi or the Middle East region.
Familiarity with local construction codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Detail-oriented and capable of identifying and resolving technical issues effectively.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools used for site inspection and documentation.
Certifications related to construction quality assurance/control and safety will be advantageous.
