About the Role
The Client Accounting and Tax Supervisor must have experience collaborating a team of senior accountant and accountants while aligning with organizational objectives. Responsibilities include providing quality assurance review that the output financial reports and tax returns prepared by the team are reliable, has complied with relevant IFRS/ GAAP and tax regulations and submitted timely whether monthly, quarterly or annually. Equally important is knowing how to motivate, listen and communicate to clients and colleagues is essential. The success of a Supervisor depends on the success of the team and the ability to work effectively with them. This means helping them improve their performance by removing barriers to their success, coaching, mentoring to enhance skills, or holding them accountable when they don’t perform while side-by-side working on own development with the help of the Manager.
Key responsibilities:
Understand the importance of revenue, productivity, chargeability and the client relationship and effectively apply this understanding to daily tasks.
Be responsible for the delivery of work to ensure the right level of quality and timeliness.
Provide supervision, training and guidance to team members focusing on task performance.
In conjunction with the Accounting and Tax Manager, ensure the appropriate level of staff is carrying out the work, and supervise the workload of team members.
Support the delivery teams in obtaining information from other teams, if required
Supervise the full set of operational processes for clients including being operationally responsible for client documentation and delivery of out-of-scope work.
Deal with, act on, or assign correspondences from third parties i.e. authorities, lawyers, partners, etc.
Support the implementation and updating of systems.
Supervise, build and develop relationships with clients and advisors/auditors as appropriate as assigned within the portfolio, building a first-rate professional relationship with assigned clients acting as a secondary point of contact
Day to day supervision of client relationship management of a portfolio of clients
Ensure the delivery of services in accordance with each client engagement letter.
Share relevant information and updates to clients.
Oversee completion of know your client procedures for all clients.
Processing and review of accounting and associated work
Review of statutory reporting, including preparing AFS, facilitation of audits/independent reviews
Review of monthly and quarterly management reports
Review, test and reconcile the work and data received from accountants.
Assist with the co-ordination and preparation of monthly and annual trackers.
Identify opportunities for additional work with clients, ensuring identification, understanding of requirement, delivery and billing thereof.
Ensure the correct reporting of time spent for work on portfolios.
Key Requirements
Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, CA) in recognized professional body.
At least 4 years relevant experience gained from sizable CPA firm or multinational company; plus tax experience gained in major international professional firms is an advantage.
Sound knowledge of international accounting practices (IFRS) and key updates.
Soft skills – self-motivated, well-organized and a strong sense of responsibility with positive working attitude.
Excellent skills in use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Experience in QuickBooks, Zoho, SAP and other key accounting software is a differential.
Good command of written and spoken English, Arabic will be an advantage.
Other characteristics: reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
