What this role involves:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced accountant to join our finance department based in an established chartered surveying firm. The ideal candidate should have experience in providing both financial and operational support to the company. The candidate will be responsible for all matters that relate to management and financial reporting along with budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting, controls, financial systems, and infrastructure as well as tax and treasury management in line with the company’s requirements and policies. Should have experience in handling external audits and preparing financial statements. The individual should also have a good understanding of accounting principles, international financial reporting standards and preferably, have experience working in the GCC region.
Key responsibilities:
To produce timely, accurate management information. To prepare budget and forecast/business plan information, perform financial analysis and to finalise the year end process and statutory accounts preparation.

Review monthly trial balance and other internal control processes.
Address any inaccuracies or differences with the accounts regarding their source data to ensure accuracy, quality and completeness of all incoming data.
Ensure timely and accurate financial and management reporting.
Oversee/establish/maintain all month-end closing activities including G/L maintenance, BS reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocations.
Produce the monthly Management Information Pack.
Review and analyse all inputs to the management information pack.
Provide variance analysis and commentary and incorporating analytics on the performance.
Continually adapt and improve management reports.
Analyse results against targets/KPI’s.
Engage/manage outside consultants (auditors, corporate secretarial, legal, tax).
Ensure legal/regulatory compliance.
Business analysis on specified areas, including routine matters and new projects as directed.
Co-ordination with department heads to highlight any areas of concern or issues.
Supervise and ensure compliance of direct and indirect taxes for all group entities.
Oversee cash flow management/plan.
Ad-hoc reporting.
Budget & Forecasting
Prepare budgets, reforecast and rolling business plan/forecast information.
Source/review relevant market and economic data for consideration.
Analyse cost/investment in alignment with company’s objectives.
Assess organisational and departmental performance.
Assist in KPI target development.
Financial Controls, Systems and Asset Protection:
Assist in tools/systems/architecture development to provide critical/timely financial and operational information.
Implement/ maintain effective risk management procedures.
Ensure maintenance/communication of appropriate and effective internal controls and policies and procedures.
Assist in controls/insurance coverage for asset/cash protection.
Year End Reporting
Assist with preparation of year end accounts, liaising with auditors as required.
Prepare annual statutory accounts for various entities, including reconciliation of statutory accounts with management accounts.
Communication:
Maintain confidentiality regarding all information accessed by virtue of your position, of either fellow staff or the company, which are yet to be made public by the Management.
Communicate openly and honestly at all times.
Teamwork:
Assist others to meet business objectives when required.
Participate in work-based team activities.
Ensure behaviours are consistent to enhance the team environment.

Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and statutory obligations.

Requirements:
Degree in Accountancy with CA/CPA Qualification
2+ years working in a similar role.
Strong working knowledge in Financial Analysis, Forecasting and Budgeting.
Knowledge of International taxation laws and regulations within GCC would be beneficial.
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Meticulous with Strong analytical and problem-solving skill.
Possess good business acumen and highly adaptive.
