DESCRIPTION
As digital payments evolve in the Middle East (MENA), organizations are going through digital transformation and looking for simpler, safer, and affordable ways to process payments, coupled with a change in consumer behavior in favor of paying for products and services online. Amazon Payments is at the forefront of innovation, re imagining payments in the MENA region. At Amazon, we have a long history of providing innovative solutions for our customers. We build trusted, simple, and affordable payment experiences for our customers and solve for challenges such as increasing electronic payment coverage, increasing purchasing power at checkout, mitigating transactional risks, and offer payment insights.
The MENA Payments Team is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to manage payment acceptance and experience for Amazon in UAE, KSA and Egypt. You will be responsible for developing products that improve the payments experience of new and existing Amazon customers as they navigate through their purchase experience. You will ensure that Amazon delivers a consistent and low friction purchase and payment experience across all businesses, removing bottlenecks to drive growth. The role will also be responsible for improving the payment success rate, drive adoption of electronic payments and ensure compliance with latest regulations. Expect to dive deep into customer metrics, competitive bench marking, technical improvements, better customer experience and other relevant data to inform your product strategy. This role will collaborate with internal customers to build business cases to advocate for new payments experiences, define product design and requirements, own the roadmap for the charter and provide regular business updates. You will ground your approach on analytics, collaborating with our Product Managers, Technical Teams, Payments Operations, Legal, Public Policy, Finance and Data Scientists to drive the best experience for Amazon MENA customers. You will also work with external banking stakeholders to as needed.
This position involves regular communication with senior leadership on product design and feasibility, business case, improvement areas, project execution and operational risks. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate will also have superior analytical abilities, a track record of finding practical, simple and creative solutions to complicated problems without sacrificing quality or core functionality, and stellar business writing skills. You should be comfortable working both at a strategic level and diving deep into the details to ensure solution feasibility and quality of execution. You will ensure that Amazon’s products meet and exceed the highest standards in experience, cost, engagement, security and technical precision. You will help chart the course of creating new products and services that solve real problems for both internal and our customers.
The position is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Key job responsibilities
Product-strategy /direction: Continually assess the needs of customers, market trends, competitive opportunities and threats in defining and evolving the product-strategy for digitization. Define both long term strategy and short-term plans to achieve the product-vision and deliver business results.
Roadmap-Planning: Ensure consistent execution of product-lifecycle processes from concept to launch. Provide value-based prioritization of product development initiatives to ensure maximum ROI and market-driven alignment. Deliver world-class innovation in features, usability and product performance in consistent cadence of releases. Manage a cross-functional process for prioritizing, delivering and launching major product releases.
Requirements-Definition: Develop comprehensive product plans, incorporating market requirements, define the competitive arena, and establish the objectives, strategies, and actions required to achieve business goals. Produce high quality requirements documents and effectively prioritize and manage the scope of each product launch to deliver key capabilities on time and on budget. Write user stories to communicate customer needs in an agile development environment.
Product-Roll-out: Work with teams to create and execute go-to-market plans for new features. Monitor key performance metrics to ensure product performance and identify optimization opportunities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years of Product Management or equivalent experience delivering software or online products to market.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
Extensive experience in product, program, and/or project management in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services in fintech, ecommerce, retail, internet products or related fields.
Experience in domain of payment acceptance and experience improvement to drive metrics such as payment success rate and electronic payment adoption. Also experience on working with banks, networks or local payment bodies/players to drive these improvements
Experience defining market and product requirements, working with engineering organizations to rapidly deliver high-impact capabilities to market.
Exceptional written and verbal communication with the ability to create compelling positioning/messaging strategy and present complex information clearly and concisely.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to justify requirements, features and drive management of product.
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Collaborative working style. Must work well in a team environment.
Must have bias for action and strong work ethic.
Proven ability to deliver first class customer experiences with a deep understanding of UX best practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience in managing improvements in complex software tools UX through iterative design and research.
Launched wallets and cash digitization products
Experience with online and physical retail transactions
An understanding of financial transaction processing networks, payment processors and systems (Credit Card, ACH, etc.). Experience in domain of payment acceptance and experience improvement to drive metrics such as payment success rate and electronic payment adoption. Also experience on working with banks, networks or local payment bodies/players to drive these improvements
