ob Purpose
Managing the overall Load Control and Ramp Operation performance through the development, monitor, measurement and improvement of Load Control and Ground Operations metrics, standards and procedures across the Emirates network. Continuously studying methods into improving Emirates overall safety and efficiency in Ground Operation. Ensuring standards are met by dnata Airport Operations and EKAS Load Control (specifically for diversions and charter flights) in the areas of safety, regulatory requirements, payload maximisation, quality and timeliness of service. Act as the EK functional specialist for all concerned stakeholders.
Job Outline:
- The job holder manages the development of Emirates Load Control metrics in the areas of safety, regulatory requirements, payload maximisation, quality and timeliness of service. Provides recommendation on the approach that will be used for data capture on the above metrics, including frequency and systems requirements where necessary. The job holder will also lead the development of KPIs for effective management of the CLC function worldwide. Represents Emirates at industry conferences and working groups on areas of Load Control and Ramp Operation.
- Manage the Loading Reconciliation system to support the production of safe and accurate weight and balance documents, including application rollout, system data management and functionality development.
- Manages the performance on Centralised Load Control and Ground Operation worldwide for both passenger and freighter operation. Liaise and manages relevant stakeholders (internal and external) in achieving performance targets. Monitors regular reports on metrics/KPIs, compliance against SLAs, document appropriate action items and monitor action plans to reduce cost and improve safety.
- Manages the design and production of weight and balance documents such as Loading Instructions and Aircraft Trim Sheets in accordance with all safety parameters set by aircraft manufacturers and IATA. Ensure company standards are improved and compliant with regulations and industry standards.
- Accountable for managing the accuracy, integrity and validity on all weight and balance data and business rules (AHMs, Weight Reports, DCS data and business rules) for all Emirates passenger and freighter aircraft in all operational manual and departure control systems to support safe flight operation. Responsible for ensuring all weight and balance data and manuals for all aircraft types (B777-300ER, B787, A350, A380 & B777 Freighter) are current in liaison with Flight Operations Performance, SkyCargo and training department based on manufacturer's manuals and IATA regulations.
- Manages the overall trained and qualified resource coverage through licensing across the Hub and Network for Load Control, CLC Coordination and Loading Supervision, ensuring Emirates operational requirements are adequately supported, and making alternative arrangement in the event of insufficient trained and qualified resource at station.
- Accountable for the Centralised Load Control and Aircraft Loading procedures, process charts and related non-regulatory manuals for each station, ensuring all development are driven towards increasing safety and efficiency and are compliant with existing regulations, industry and corporate standards.
- Based on trends, root-cause analysis, audits, benchmarking exercises, etc., highlight opportunities for improvements (in process, systems, people, etc.) across the business that leads to benefits in safety, regulatory, payload, quality, service, punctuality, etc. Initiate projects to deliver benefits. Drive system automation and other IT related initiatives.
- Accountable for managing all Load Control aspects (content, regulatory compliance, trainer qualification requirement etc) of Ground Operations training for Emirates. Ensure trainings delivered to all ground handling personnel worldwide are compliant with GCAA CAR OPS, other aviation regulations and industry standards, and supports the company's drive for safe and efficient operation.
- Manage the Load Control Operational team on non-routine and exceptional issues e.g. diversions/charters, acting as a subject matter expert for VPNC, dnata Load Control and other operational stakeholders, also providing quality solutions in high pressure situations to help daily operations get back on track.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
Experience:
- 8+ Years of Airport Operations
- Load Control
- Experience in departure control systems and load control (centralised load control model) with a major international airline or ground handler
Knowledge/skills:
- Advanced level courses in Load Control / Weight and Balance, Ramp Handling, Dangerous Goods Handling and preferably trained in Passenger Services and Cargo ( basic level courses).
- Must hold current weight and balance licences for all types of EK aircraft.
- Minimum 2 years experience working in CLC environment with station start-up and ongoing operational support.
- Experience in managing vendor/supplier relationships, monitoring KPIs, SLAs, continuous improvement projects, etc.
