Overview:
Mission Systems is a strategic business unit of Collins Aerospace specializing in the supply of mission-critical systems enabling military, government, and civil customers to safely and successfully complete their most complex missions. Mission Systems has recently restructured its International BD organization around the following four market segments:
Five Eyes (UK, Australia/New Zealand, Canada) and the Americas (Brazil, LATAM)
European Union (EU) / NATO
Asia with focus on Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore
Middle East with focus on Saudi, UAE and Israel
As a result, we are looking to hire talented and experienced BD leaders who will manage each of the four segments, reporting to the Director of International BD. This job description is specific to the Middle East market segment and therefore the job will be located will Collins in Dubai, UAE.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Middle East segment BD lead will have responsibility and accountability for the development of Mission Systems business within his/her segment. He/she will lead a team of BD professionals with specific roles and responsibilities spanning country/customer/CONOPS subject matter expertise (SME), Pursuit to Order Capture (POC) SME, product SME (as applicable) and marketing. He/she will work in close cooperation with peers within Mission Systems portfolio BD organizations.
The segment lead will be responsible for assigning roles and responsibilities to the existing BD professionals assigned to his/her segment, as well as for hiring new talent to fill open positions with an objective to maximize resource efficiency and effectiveness in order to fuel business growth.
The segment lead will be responsible and accountable for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) orders forecast as well as the five-year Long Range Plan (LRP) orders forecast within his/her segment, in coordination with the relevant Mission Systems portfolio BD leads. He/she will be responsible for the successful implementation of the Mission Systems BD Functional Excellence model within his/her team, including the development of talent through regular performance assessment and adequate training and/or special project assignments. Together with his/her team, the segment lead will support the development and execution of strategies designed to grow the international business.
The segment lead will interface with external stakeholders (customers, industry organizations, partners) and internal stakeholders (other Mission Systems functional as such as VSL and Engineering) in order to build affinity and create robust networks. He/she will also support and in some cases oversee the execution of MARCOM activities including tradeshows, industry days, customer demonstrations.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Extensive knowledge and experience of the military market environment within the Middle East market segment (more specifically UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel). Must have knowledge of defence procurement, acquisition and life cycle sustainment process, as well as a strong understanding of the customer requirements and competitive landscape
Engineering, Business or equivalent degree and a minimum of 10 years of business development relevant experience
Eligible to work in the Middle East market segment with proper security clearances
Extensive BD lead experience as demonstrated by tangible results in prior roles (e.g. pipeline growth, program wins, successful marketing campaigns)
Strategic thinking and leadership skills (as demonstrated by hiring and retaining talent)
Strong communication skills, global mindset, multi-cultural experience
Demonstrated ability to solve customer problems, be the customer advocate
Passion for winning new competitive business
Ability to regularly travel within the segment and internationally
Preferred requirements:
Master's degree, MBA or other relevant post-graduate degree
Experience in and knowledge of program management, marketing, strategy
Military operations or government procurement background/experience
