Job summary
We're looking for a dynamic and accomplished Business Analyst to join our team. This role is part of the Finance BI team and will be responsible for various automation initiatives, data engineering activities and BI reporting process improvements. This role will also be responsible to generate enterprise reporting, insights into the Amazon MENA Consumer business and drive data-driven decision making.
Our ideal candidate has a combination of strong technical skills, outstanding business insight and excellent verbal and written communication skills. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the business and technology leaders and set up the next level of reporting systems and analytics for the organization.
Key job responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this role include:
Simplify and automate reporting and other data-driven activities; build solutions to have maximum scale and self-service ability by stakeholders
Setup and execute processes for performing exploratory data analysis to unearth insight or patterns that can be used to drive operational efficiency
Build analytical / data science solutions to solve business problems
Generate critical insight and recommendations into business performance, deliver periodic business reviews, answer various adhoc questions from the business, evaluate what if scenarios, size opportunities, develop analytical solutions
Working with senior stakeholders to understand business challenges and frame into analytics project that teams can solve
Support the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing performance metrics, reports and dashboards to drive key business decisions
Establish reporting standards and engage data engineering to deliver automated solutions, where possible
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of experience in business intelligence/data analytics in Retail/Finance/Ecommerce businesses
Bachelor’s or higher degree in an analytical area such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering
Advance Knowledge and direct experience using BI reporting tools like Microstrategy, Tableau, Qlikview, etc
Experience in big data concepts with a solid knowledge of SQL, including ability to write complex queries
Strong knowledge of data engineering best practices, big data technologies and data modeling concepts
Strong knowledge of various data warehousing methodologies and data modeling concepts. - Leadership experience in working with senior stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s or higher degree in an analytical area such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering
