Job Purpose
This position is focal to effective delivery of Protocol matters across the ENOC Group
Under the guidance of Sr. Manager – Govt. Communications and protocol, develops and maintains a robust platform for effective delivery of Protocol issues across the ENOC Group and operates in a setting & environment of high protocol with emphasis of cross-cultural communications, business practices & etiquette.
Principal Accountabilities
Manages and provides leadership, professional expertise and direction in the planning, organizing and effective delivery of all Protocol issues across the ENOC Group, within the UAE and internationally
Develops, maintains and enforces a Protocol strategy, along with policies, procedures, practices and guidelines for all Business Segments and Corporate departments, pertaining to Protocol requirements
Plans, manages and executes each and every high-level Protocol related event in minute detail, in coordination with GCEO’s office, Business Segments and corporate departments as required. This will include logistic coordination through advance market research to identify potential site locations, facility selections, gift exchanges, invitations, seating arrangements, press coverage arrangements etc.
Prepares briefing notes and other relevant background information pertinent to specific events and ensures their circulation within Leadership team.
Acquires advance information regarding dignitary visits, ceremonies, events and meetings to ensure proper planning. Maintains a calendar of events requiring Protocol intervention
Provides guidance to ENOC Leadership on etiquette, cultural and diplomatic formalities and precedence norms; thereby helps leaders forge important relationships, avoiding embarrassing situations.
Defines and manages the roles and responsibilities of ENOC Protocol Champions; imparts appropriate periodic training to them.
In coordination with Group Communications, manages the issue of press communications and other media releases pertaining to specific events involving local and international dignitaries
Manages staff under his control and ensures accurate record keeping within the protocol team. These duties include ensuring that all files are current and up to date; schedules, such as the staff establishment list, are easily accessible and up to date. These would typically include but not limited to current mailing list of key contacts with appropriate resumes and backgrounds and all such relevant documentation
May be required to work and/or be “on call” after normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends or holidays and attend periodic command and/or civic related social functions and related events after normal duty hours
Additional Principal Accountabilities
Experience
⦁ Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Psychology or Sociology from a prestigious University
⦁ 5 - 7 years of professional experience in the planning and execution of complex, high quality events and programs conducted to enhance the visibility and image of the organization
⦁ Excellent bilingual (Arabic & English) verbal and written communication skills
⦁ High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
⦁ Strong attention to details and ability to follow through with a high level of accuracy
⦁ Positive, constructive and proactive attitude with ability to work under pressure
⦁ Ability to function effectively in diverse cultural and political environments
⦁ Proven ability to motivate and manage the work of others, including volunteers, colleagues and service providers
⦁ Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities with minimum instructions and oversight.
