JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Overview:
Efficient and effective control of project equipment / material, processes and documentation in a timely manner and within the parameters of and in compliance with McDermott Global Operating and Quality Procedures conforming to ISO 9001 procedure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Establish and manage operations, from initial warehouse set-up to full-fledged operations, including equipment and manpower requirement
Accountable for successful Control of warehouse operations, including managing rigging operations pertaining to materials receiving and issuing
Formulate and develop short- and long-term warehouse operations strategies and plans that will ensure cost effective operations in accordance with Company policies and procedures
Control and monitor receipts of new materials & equipment in the warehouse
Plan and organize manpower and equipment allocation to different projects to enable expediting of receipt
(GRN) and issue of materials as per the request from end user
Responsible for optimum warehouse space utilization and materials allocations
Control and monitor projects materials receipts, (GRN) reservation/allocation through GRN supervisor and issue-out to construction through project materials specialist
Manage Project Surplus materials effective utilization stored in warehouse and yard and handle disposals of redundant materials
Supervise, train, set objectives for staff appraises and support subordinates to display high levels of individual and team performance to achieve company objectives
Implement new processes to improve warehouse effectiveness and emphasize on continual improvements
Interfacing with Procurement to project and propose synergies and strategy for purchase of bulk material
Assisting with scheduling, priority changes and effective utilization of resources
Monitor bid plan verses actual plan to establish space utilization and offsite storage planning
Ensure all the project material records are maintained in the system, from receipt to issues including RTS
Ensure strategies are in place to minimize surplus material and for effective reuse or disposal
Attend and / or conduct, as appropriate, meetings related to Project Materials, Surplus, Inventory, Fab assets, and related issues
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Degree / Diploma in Science / Material Management / IT or 15 years relevant experience
Specific Industry Training, Knowledge of Engineering / Petrochemical industry or General Engineering / Mechanical background
Computer literate and proficient in the use of spreadsheets and / or material management software.
Fluent in English language (oral +written)
Able to read, analyse and interpret business periodicals, professional journals or technical procedures
Ability to compile / write reports, business correspondence and procedures as well as effectively presenting information and respond to questions from management
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and
decimals
Ability to compute ratio and percentage
Ability to draw and interpret graphs and production schedules etc
Familiar with materials, specifications and materials requisitioning systems
Purchasing, requisitioning or buying experience advantageous
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Capable of working under pressure and handling high volumes of work and balancing conflicting demands in a timely manner whilst constantly meeting deadlines and targets
Will be self-motivated, highly focused, driven by results and able to demonstrate excellent organization and communication skills and pay attention to detail while operating with flexibility and adaptability
Able to digest information and apply logic to arrive at solutions
Capable of managing a team to lead by example
