MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
Responsible for preparation and maintenance of the financial statements of the company. the person will be responsible for the analysis, review and providing explanation for revenue and expense variances. ensuring compliance with the IFRS reporting requirements and other standards, as applicable, based on the financing requirements of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading the GL team to achieve the team objectives to provide monthly closing and results to the management in a timely manner.
Monitoring the team activities to achieve the accounting and reporting objectives.
Supervising the closing process of the financials of the organization to ensure revenue & cost reporting requirements are complete & accurate.
Interacting with other team leaders to report and close their respective areas to provide necessary information for closing.
Review the financial statements preparation process to ensure compliance with all relevant & applicable IFRS.
Provide inputs to the reporting line on the applicability of new standards and their impact on the results of the company.
Review disclosure requirements under relevant reporting standards and ensure information gathering at the source.
Influence and assist in the process of providing management information by capturing relevant details at the source level.
The person will be only responsible to assist the MIS team to gather details which will assist in their final process.
Review the financial schedules and reports to be provided to relevant auditors and other certification authorities to meet the objectives. Providing explanations to the auditors and ensuring compliance with processes related to collection and dissemination of information on the financials.
Review and supervise the completion of all key GL nominal reconciliations to achieve accurate and correct reporting of costs & revenue.
Motivating the team to complete the reconciliation objectives within reasonable timelines
Participating in new initiatives from business and defining processes to gather accurate and correct financial information for reporting. This includes suggesting and influencing the business process work flows to include proper financial and accounting controls.
Identifying and reviewing exception costs & revenue items for further action of management.
Support management initiatives of cost reduction & improvement by providing relevant information for such programs.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Minimum Education Level Required
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)
Education / Experience Specific Requirements
Qualified accountant or equivalent certification in Degree level
Experience
Preferred No. of Years (with Relevant Degree) - 7
Preferred No. of Years (without Relevant Degree) - 10
Systems, Licensing, Language or Certification Requirements
Certified Accountancy qualification equivalent to ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc
