About the school
Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi (NAS Abu Dhabi) lies at the heart of the Emirate, on Al Reem Island. In August 2023, we will open the school’s new, purpose-built campus to our first cohort of students and begin to do what Nord Anglia does best: make every moment at school count. We’ll help our students prepare for their futures, think creatively outside the box, develop healthy resilience and global awareness, and be team players. Through personalised learning, our students will thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, and achieve more than they ever thought possible.
The Role
As founding Head of Primary, you will be responsible for establishing and leading a world class Primary School section. You will work closely alongside the Principal to build an outstanding team to ensure our school offers the very best international experience for students, delivering learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom to an outstanding level for our students.
About You
You will be an exceptional practitioner, who is dynamic, inspiring, and highly motivated by the challenge of recruiting and then leading colleagues to ensure first class academic, personal, and social outcomes for all students. You will be values-driven, recognising that our moral purpose guides all that we do, and ensuring these values remain at the forefront of daily life.
You will have an outstanding record of high performance in the classroom, and you will use your knowledge to play a leading role in creating a culture of professional learning, thereby enabling a constant focus on the development of classroom practice. Your knowledge of latest concept and practice within the Primary educational field with be comprehensive and will ensure the school is fully up to date with initiatives which support effective learning, student happiness and ultimately, outcomes.
Your energy and compassion as a leader will inspire your colleagues and fellow leaders. You will have the gravitas to lead the section, reassuring both current and prospective parents that NASAD is an exceptional, forward thinking, happy and creative school. As a result of your leadership, those around you will feel supported and motivated and will drive themselves to continued innovation and aspire to everyday to strive for excellence in all they do. As an ambitious professional you will seek constant challenge and inspiration for yourself as well as for those around you.
The culture that you create will ensure that the running of the school and the students’ successes will drive the popularity of the school. As the Head of Primary, you will play a key role in marketing the school and in conveying to the community the exceptional educational provision on offer. You will be supportive of the schools’ admissions and marketing teams in all activities, bringing you knowledge, energy and charisma to promote the school in the community in order to drive the growth of our student numbers.
Above all, you will be an excellent communicator who will establish highly positive and successful relationships with students, with their parents and with colleagues. Your drive and passion will lead others to believe in you and in the opportunities and possibilities for each and every student. You will be a role model for the school and what it represents both in and out of the school environment and held in the highest regard by your peers and the wider community of Al Reem and Abu Dhabi.
Selection Process
Applicants should submit a CV, letter of application and the details of two professional referees, one of which should be your current Line Manager.
