Retail Team Leader, Farah Experiences, Abu Dhabi, UAE

To ensure a smooth and efficient operation in the retail department in relation to the company core process thus directly impacting the delivery of the experience, as well as, directly impacting on managing finance for the leisure facility by managing the replenishing of stocks, receipt and storage of goods. This position supervises the daily outlet operations by effectively managing all line colleagues. Responsible for maintaining a safe and pleasant work environment for both guests and colleagues. Furthermore, this position also ensures available items at merchandise warehouse ordered and displayed at outlets, min/max stock levels monitored, inventory spot checks carried out, stocks movements within merchandise department posted into EATEC. Ensures stock room is clean and well organized.

 

 

Job Scope:

  • Manages a team of front line colleagues to include their on the job training, daily attendance, grooming, coaching, appraisals and personal development plans
  • Schedule, break and if required rotate colleagues fairly in order to ensure position coverage, increased productivity as well as maintaining colleagues well being
  • Participate in daily operations alongside their colleagues setting a positive example
  • Task train colleagues in the safe operation of equipment and to follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Coach and discipline colleagues in a fair and consistent manner in order to motivate and improve performance
  • Conduct colleague performance appraisals in a timely, fair and constructive manner in order to promote their personal and career growth
  • Assign and delegate tasks as required and follow-up
  • Ensure that all safety rules and procedures are being adhered to at all times
  • Ensure that policies, procedures and performance standards that are in place in the department are being adhered to
  • Ensure a clean and safe operating environment and raise any defects to their managers attention
  • Conduct communication briefings as required
  • Ensure all departmental checklists i.e. opening and closing checklists are being consistently completed, any required follow-up action is initiated and forms/records are being filed appropriately
  • Deal with any internal or external customer requests and issues that are beyond the scope of their front line colleagues
  • Motivate and inspire line colleagues to achieve sales and guest satisfaction targets
  • Mediate between the frontline colleagues and the management to address complaints and dissatisfaction from both parties
  • Improve the existing sales strategies to boost sales in the department
  • Handle minor complaints of the guests as well as their line colleagues
  • Supervise opening and closing of the store at appropriate time
  • Lead by setting a good example (role model) – behavior consistent with words
  • Assist in scheduled stock take, outside revenue generating events
  • Monitoring if the brand standards are met by the line colleagues on a daily basis
  • Assisting in investigation for possible cash variance of the team on a daily basis
  • Arranging and maintaining product displays with approval, stock shelves (refill) and take product inventory
  • Monitoring if all products are displayed and assuring that all new arrivals are displayed asap
  • Coordinate the transfer of items from warehouse to outlets by preparing department order in a timely manner ensuring that each outlet has enough stocks for trade at any given time
  • Receive and ensure accuracy of items received and follow up with warehouse team on pending orders/items
  • Post internal requisitions, transfer items through EATEC system
  • Sorting and posting damage items
  • Prepare and transfer stocks from one outlet to another
  • Conduct scheduled spot check and physical inventory
  • Ensure that front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) is always organized, clean and tidy
  • Price labeling new arrivals once received and faded or damaged price tags as soon as possible
  • Any other tasks that may be required from time to time to perform other duties to meet the needs of the business

 

To be considered for this role, you will need:

Essential:

  • Higher secondary or equivalent
  • 2 years in a similar role in a retail environment
  • Good supervisory skills
  • Good spoken and written English skills
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Time management skills
  • MS Office suite
  • Enthusiastic dynamic and able to work under pressure
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues and management

 

Desirable:

 

  • 1 year working in a fast paced retail set up
  • Experience in working with EATEC
  • Any other language would be an advantage
