The opportunity
The Facility Officer is responsible for the facilities management, maintenance of MEP, Civil, building infrastructure and support services of the wastewater monitoring Lab (WWML) facility to ensure that they meet the needs of the organization.

G42 Healthcare partnered with Abu Dhabi authorities to develop a massive throughput laboratory in 14 days and spearheaded the world’s first Phase 3 clinical trial of COVID-19 inactivated vaccine. Beyond Covid-19, G42 Healthcare is also developing a program of activities to support the health of future generations – ranging from genomics, imaging and diagnostics to digitization programs, manufacturing and cutting-edge research.
Responsibilities
You will report directly to the Manager- HSE & FM Operations.
FM Contracts Management - Overseeing the agreed service level agreement (SLA) contracts with various service providers including MEP, security, Housekeeping, catering, transportation and so on. Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including cleaning, maintenance, ground porters, Office boys/girls, receptionist, and security.
Client relationship and Management
- Be a first point of contact for the client/DOE to get advice and help on a range of topics such as construction issues, Training, fit out, MEP services, space management, cleaning services, Security services.
- Able to drive initiatives throughout the organization including top management.
Facility Operations & Maintenance –
- Managing the performance & activities for the internal facility management team and outsourced contractors. Leading by example and ensuring the development of the team matches the top management expectations.
- Act at the official liaison with external and internal stakeholders ensuring that all FM strategic goals are met.
- Setting and delivering the KPI’s. Working with the lab Management team to assist with long term planning of the Lab facility, making suggestions on improvements when necessary.
FM Asset Management –
- Responsible for ensuring that the assets are kept up to date and all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil equipment/ infrastructure are properly recorded and accounted for.
- Upkeeping of the MEP asset register, Drawings, OM Manual registry and other related documents.
- Ensure all the Assets are well maintained as per the latest international standards.
- Keeping the forward Maintenance register to ensure the maximum life expectancy of the assets.
Refurbishment and Fit-out management Planning and coordinating all installations and refurbishments. Managing the upkeep of FM equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards. Inspecting buildings' structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations and advising on all building and fit out issues arising.
- Procurement and vendor Management –
- Coordinating with the G42 Procurement department and acting as a point of contact to various FM vendors to organize site visits and assisting to provide required technical inputs.
- Preparation and Evaluation of Scope of work/Tender documents for various FM services
- Carrying out techno-commercial evaluation of the proposals
- Creating the Purchase requests in the ERP System for FM Services
- Acknowledging the service receipts
Compliance Management - Working within Local and international guidelines ensuring that technical and project guidelines are always followed by all involved for FM Scope of work. (DOE/ADDC/ADCD/ISO/JCI Etc.)
LP Management -
- Carryout/document the construction snags and ensure that they are completed as per the timeline
- Ensure the DLP issues are recorded, highlighted on time and resolved by the main contractors
Warrantee Management - Keep a tracker of the Warrantee documents and ensure that the FM assets are well covered.
Finance Management – Preparation of Annual budget for the FM operations and Keep a tracker for the payments/invoices/Purchase requests etc. as required
Infection Control and HSEQ Management
- Ensure that building and Operational Risk is properly managed for FM scope of work.
- Able to create the necessary policies, procedures and processes needed to ensure continuity within the Lab as well as ensuring that a robust Emergency management system is in place.
- Preparation of Business continuity and Utilities Management plan for the facility
- Ensure that the FM contractors are following the infection control guidelines set by the IC Specialist.
Other Duties –
- Carryout the 3rd Party calibration and validations for FM equipment’s as per the industry standards
- Manage transportation
- Pantry Management
- Security Management
Qualifications
To qualify, you must have
- Professionally qualified Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical) BE/B-Tech or degree in related field
- Qualification and certification relevant to healthcare/ Lab facility maintenance.
- 5 to 10 years’ experience minimum leading a large healthcare facilities management contract
- Minimum of 5 years of managerial/senior MEP FM engineer experience.
- Relevant HSE Qualifications (NEBOSH.IGC. IOSH MS) etc. are desirable
- Experience in CMMS/FSI Maintenance management software
- Knowledge of ORACLE/MS DYNAMICS ERP Systems
- Awareness of ACONEX Project management software
Ideally, you’ll also need
- Excellent knowledge of standards, policies and procedures, and reports required for this position
- Ability to communicate necessary information with colleagues and managers.
- Good organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to efficiently handle emergencies and remain calm in stressful situations
- Extensive experience supporting Facility, Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives
- Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
- In-depth knowledge of safety protocols procedures
- Strong work ethic
- Time management
- Good interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Computer skills
