Job Purpose:
The Qatar Lead GeoViz Technician will be responsible for the resourcing and delivery of all GeoViz projects in country. They will lead a team of geospatial technicians.
Key Accountabilities:
Technical:
- Responsible for the execution and delivery of all visualisation & geospatial work in Qatar.
- Operate & maintain an offshore monitoring GIS system that tracks all offshore vehicles & conditions.
- Advise on best practice for geospatial & visualisation data capture and ensure GeoViz Team are trained to these standards.
- Review and process aerial/terrestrial imagery and all other geospatial data to meet contractual and quality standard.
- Create visualisations on bespoke software to allow client to plan and deliver construction and operational plans safely, efficiently and timeously.
- Handle & organise high volumes of data to enable efficient and effective decision making by the client.
Safety and Quality:
- The Qatar Lead GeoViz Technician is involved in ensuring GeoViz projects are executed safely following both Cyberhawk and client safety policies and local regulatory standards.
- Adhere to company’s procedures and ensure the highest standards of health and safety and deadlines are met.
- Suggest improvement and ensure adherence to documented regulations, company policies and procedures, including the identification and reporting of non-compliance
- Handle all Cyberhawk and client information with confidentiality, sensitivity and discretion following the company policies.
People:
- Instil the Cyberhawk culture and values into the GeoViz Team in Qatar.
- Lead the GeoViz team and ensure clear communication of project deliverables and potential challenges and manage the performance of the team.
- Ensure the team have the skills and knowledge required and identify and resolve gaps in training.
- Manage working conditions and hours to deliver a safe and high performing team, focused on project KPIs.
- Liaise with operational and technical managers on project coordination and progress.
Finance:
Monitor project activity and progress and report as appropriate on project milestones to ensure contractual payments are invoiced and received.
Ensure all project variations are appropriately approved and documented to ensure avoid contractual disputes and payment delays.
Report on project profitability against projected margins and find project and costs risks.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrographic Surveying / Land Surveying / Geomatics / Civil Engineering or equivalent. Post graduate diploma in GIS is highly desirable.
- 10 years’ experience in conducting / supervising hydrographic surveying activities of which 5 years should be in offshore oil and gas industry.
- Well versed with planning and conducting geophysical / hydrographic / ROV / offshore geotechnical surveys, positioning of offshore structures and subsea infrastructure, Oceanographic / Met Ocean/ tidal observations and calculations and use of associated software and equipment.
- Working knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) on ArcGIS platform and Fledermaus software are highly desirable.
- Experienced in creating geospatial outputs, handling geospatial data and use of photogrammetry software.
- Good knowledge of land surveying & geomatics, including GPS.
- An eye for detail and the ability to work to tight schedules.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Excellent spelling and grammar and attention to detail.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Experience with Microsoft software: Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams.
- Experience with Geospatial and visualisation software packages such as Agisoft Metashape, Adobe Photoshop, Global Mapper and PTGui is an advantage.
- Experience with CAD or BIM (Building Information Modelling) software, image and video editing are an advantage.
