Job Purpose:
We are seeking Geochemist to help us grow our Mining Practice. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience and the ability to help build the practice. You must have an entrepreneurial attitude and enthusiasm for supporting business development and technical efforts to expand ADNOC market share.
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graduate degree in Geochemistry, Geology or closely related discipline, ideally with a strong quantitative background and mining related emphasis
- Strong understanding of geology and chemistry
- Strong data manipulation abilities including experience with data management tools (i.e., Excel, EQuIS, Access, Python, R)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience.
- Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Basic proficiency with business writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools.
- Proven record of accomplishment of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by ADNOC’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements; willingness to travel to domestic and international project locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with geochemical modeling codes (PHREEQC, Geochemist’s Workbench, or MIN3P)
- Academic knowledge of geology, geochemistry, surface water and groundwater interactions, hydrology, water treatment and physical and chemical hydrogeology
- A strong quantitative background
- Experience in field data collection
- Experience in laboratory analysis
- Experience with data validation techniques for environmental data
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geoscience (chemical), geology, geochemistry, water resources or hydrogeology. (required)
- Advanced degree in same. (preferred)
Skill, Experience, and Qualifications
- At least 10 years of mining and geological, minerals consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- 10 years of mining and consulting experience. (preferred)
- Thorough knowledge and experience with local regulations, and good relationships with regulators. (required)
- Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations. (preferred)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to mining facilities as needed. (required)
