King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, seeks a Business Development (BD) & Marketing Coordinator to provide practice group and regional support on pitches and RFPs, events, award submissions, competitive research, marketing operations, material maintenance and creation, cross-sell initiatives, directory and award submissions and other business development and marketing activities as required to support our growing Middle East and European offices.
The ideal candidate should be professional, self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about building a business development career in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. The Business Development Coordinator will work alongside other coordinators to provide support and report to a Senior Business Development Manager and the Director of Operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Business Development & Marketing Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:
- Create and maintain marketing materials including fact sheets, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, placemats, and other tailored materials
- Gather and centralize experience lists for use in pitches, proposals, submissions, and other materials
- Assist with and, at times lead, pitches and RFPs; gather relevant materials and oversee final production of electronic and hardcopy deliverables to meet deadlines; maintain pitch/RFP files, log in pitch tracking system, and obtain outcome updates
- Use LexTrack to coordinate and help prepare and compile submissions related to legal directories and awards and arrange researcher interviews as applicable
- Provide support for K&S-hosted events including coordinating development of invitations, other types of content, and event materials with the branding team and the marketing technology team; building invitation lists, monitoring RSVPs, suggesting and project managing follow-up with attendees and invitees
- Help identify conferences and sponsorships and provide BD support as appropriate to coordinate related activities
- Track BD-related activities and prepare reports for partners and internal meetings
- Conduct research on a variety of topics including prospective and current clients, competitors and industry, and market trends to aid in the development of client teams, pitches, RFP responses, and other internal and external marketing initiatives
- Support BD team on strategic client targeting and business planning efforts including client teams
- Assist with lateral onboarding activities including Biography Creation and research on targets and opportunities
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Successful candidates are forward thinking, positive, energetic and detail oriented. Candidates must have the ability to work well with various stakeholders within the firm, have proven project management skills in a fast-paced environment and have great judgment and communication skills. Knowledge of marketing and business development-related activities is required. Requirements:
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills—both verbal and in writing, have excellent attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, work well under pressure, ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines across practices and incorporate feedback into their performance.
- Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office and be proficient with client/contact relationship management databases, such as Microsoft Dynamics.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrate a capacity to self-start and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high volume environment while interacting credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization, and be curious, resourceful, and proactive.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Law firm and/or professional service experience is strongly preferred.
