QatarEnergy is a state-owned public corporation established by Emiri Decree No. 10 in 1974. It is responsible for all phases
of the oil and gas industry in the State of Qatar. The principal activities of QatarEnergy, its subsidiaries and joint ventures
are the exploration, production, local and international sale of crude oil, natural gas and gas liquids, refined products,
synthetic fuels, petrochemicals, fuel additives, fertilizers, liquefied natural gas (LNG), steel and aluminum. QatarEnergy's
strategy of conducting hydrocarbon exploration and development is through Exploration and Production Sharing
Agreements (EPSA) and Development and Production Sharing Agreements (DPSA) concluded with major international oil
and gas companies. The operations and activities of QatarEnergy and its affiliates are conducted at various onshore
locations, including Doha, Dukhan and the Mesaieed and Ras Laffan Industrial Cities, as well as offshore areas, including

Department
LEGAL
Primary purpose of job
Provide legal support for QatarEnergy’s domestic & international exploration & production ventures (“E&P Activities”),
covering business development (e.g. initial opportunity screening, due diligence, deal structuring, drafting & negotiation of
all relevant agreements, regulatory approvals and venture set-up) as well as the management of existing ventures.
Experience & Skills
• At least ten years of legal experience (not necessarily post-qualification) in private practice or in-house, a substantial
amount of which is in relation to E&P Activities;
• Experience of dealing with regulators and government representatives;
• Ability to assimilate complex legal matters and to provide practical advice to non-lawyers;
• Effective communication skills;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player with members of the Legal Department, as well as
other stakeholders;
• Highly motivated, proactive, organized, and self-disciplined.
Education
- JD/LLB (or equivalent) degree at a recognized university
