Materials Manager, NOV, Dammam, KSA

 RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Management of the Stores, Materials Control and Logistics teams and responsibility for all associated administrative, scheduling and expediting tasks.
  • Management of material requirement planning, procurement/purchasing, inventory planning & control, warehousing, distribution & transportation.
  • Achieve target On-time delivery and Lead-time and inventory turn levels based on manufacturing and supply chain capacity/flexibility.
  • Ensure open dialogue with Sales department to keep delivery schedules updated and communicated.
  • Present key information to sales in weekly Management Production meetings.
  • Proactive management of appropriate stock levels and provision of inventory advice to production supervisors
  • Manage import and export shipments through NOV Corporate approved freight forwarders to the benefit of the organization.
  • Management and regular review of the regional min/max stock levels, ROLs.
  • Development and maintenance of appropriate KPIs for Aftersales inventory management.  
  • Ensure where possible continuous improvement methodology is adopted and implemented for all aspects of the areas within his control.
  • Represent the organization in a responsible and professional manner.
  • Ensure accurate and timely inputs of all transactions into the ERP system by his departments.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the material & stores departments.
  • To ensure correct disposal of all excess/scrap material, upkeep of company equipment in proper manner and
  • report any loss or damage in time.
  • Responsible for appropriate implementation and adherence to all applicable company policies, procedures, and quality standards (including ISO 9001 and API Q1 and API 6A) by staff under supervision.
  • Ensure all facilities are maintained and kept in line with 5S Principles.
  • Take necessary actions to close open NCRs relevant to Production Planning, Stores and Logistics Departments.
  • Contributing to the development of reports and tools within the company’s ERP to improve the flow of products and services to our customers.
  • Engage in local supplier development as required.
  • Engage in any other activities requested by the management.
  • To plan and/or manage his team’s annual/daily/sick leave requirements.
  • To update Kronos for his direct reports before every month end.

BEHAVIORAL SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Communicates well and works in harmony with the management, peers, staff and clients.
  • Has the ability to develop systematic and organized working atmosphere.
  • Take criticism and feedbacks well as an opportunity to improve and follows through suggestions.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent experience of minimum 5 years in the industry.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year experience as Logistics Coordinator
  • 2 years’ experience as Stores Supervisor

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing operations surrounding scheduling, purchasing and inventory control
  • Proficient in using MS Outlook programs. Project Management,  SAGE ERP system knowledge preferred.
  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written) Is a good communicator.
  • Has the ability to create enthusiasm.
  • Has good networking skills.
  • Is solution oriented.
  • A Supply Management recognized qualification.
  • Strong business and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of products and technologies of respective businesses.
  • Good communication skills and ability to build a strong relationship with internal and external partners
  • Knowledge of supply management tools and systems.

QUALITY ASSURANCE:

  • To carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and departmental works instructions.
  • To contribute to general improvements in the quality of key activities within the department.
  • To assist in internal and external audits of customer equipment.

QHSE:

  • Stop any process or practice which is unsafe or hazardous and report this to HSE and the management.
  • Not undertake any task for which authorization and/or training has not been given.
  • Report all accidents, incident and hazardous situations to management.
  • Stop work immediately if you have any safety concerns over the task and discuss with a manager
