JOB DESCRIPTION
The Technology & Data Governance section of the Fintech Department is responsible for the authorisation and supervision of regulated entities’ technology and data governance and risk management. This role is responsible for overseeing the section’s work in authorising and supervising regulated entities as well as assessing the technology and data risk that these regulated entities face.
- Create, implement and maintain an overall framework for managing regulated entities’ technology and data governance and risk management;
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide expertise, advice and decision making on regulated entities’ use of technology and data in the overall authorisation and supervision of regulated entities;
- Engage with regional and international market participants and other stakeholders to understand developments in technology risk (including operational resilience and cybersecurity) and data governance (including privacy enhancing technologies and data protection regulations), advise FSRA management of emerging risks and develop the FinTech ecosystem in ADGM;
- Conduct ongoing research to understand emerging risks to technology and data usage that could affect regulated entities and formulate mitigation strategies for these risks;
- Develop regulatory frameworks to address specific classes of technology and data risks faced by regulated entities;
- Draft press releases, speeches, briefings and policy documentation;
- Authoring FSRA’s thought-leadership research pieces for external publication relating to regulatory policy for fintech and data governance;
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual reporting by supervisory teams (e.g. on RegLab firms, virtual asset service providers, other fintech firms)
- Deliver additional tasks that may be delegated from Line Manager.
Work Experience
Essential
- Fluent business English speaker with ability to write detailed and accurate briefings and press releases within tight deadlines.
- Proficient in research, analysis and drafting skills in relation to emerging technological developments, including both fintech and regulation.
- Demonstrated experience in understanding and managing data protection in technology-driven firms and/or technology companies and the ability to research and grasp new technical concepts quickly.
- Demonstrated experience working with technology-driven firms and/or technology companies in managing regulatory risk and the ability to research and grasp new technical concepts quickly.
- 8-10 years’ experience in financial services and innovation with an understanding of and experience in international financial services markets, in particular capital markets and banking.
- Demonstrated project management, planning, organisation and analytical skills.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced deadline-driven operational environment
Desirable:
- Experience in dealing with local/international regulatory bodies.
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.

- Qualifications / competency in software engineering, cybersecurity, data governance, finance or related disciplines
- Arabic language skills.
