The Infrastructure division is currently seeking to appoint an Lead - Wastewater & Reuse to join our Water team in Abu Dhabi.
We have an extensive portfolio of international projects, helping our clients address asset creation, process improvement and plant optimisation needs. Our locally focused teams incorporate expert electrical, ICA, process, mechanical and civil engineers who provide a multidisciplinary approach to solving our clients’ problems in creating, managing, building and investing in water and wastewater infrastructure.
Detailed role requirements:
Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
Experience in providing technical consultancy services (mainly feasibility studies) in water sector infrastructure for private, public sector and/or multilateral international finance institutions clients.
Experience in the Middle East is highly desirable.
Experience in the design, optimisation and specification of municipal and industrial water & wastewater treatment technologies
A good understanding of chemical and energy consumption of municipal and industrial water & wastewater treatment processes with experience in optimisation
Experience of technical advisory inputs in preparing feasibility studies to determine the preferred option for project procurement and delivery.
A good understanding of the water sector that offers potential for growth and private sector investment, including but not limited to technical merits, policy and regulation, delivery and or supply chain.
Awareness of the fundamentals of international PPP or Project Finance transactions – particularly funding & financing; stakeholders; documentation; risk classification and transfer; revenue streams; and success factors.
Experience in contributing to the assessment of technical risks and priorities associated with project development, in the context of project feasibility and procurement; due diligence; assurance; or monitoring and evaluation.
Competent in the delivery of detailed technical analysis in reports and presentations to clients.
Capable of working with minimal technical supervision while demonstrating:
A high standard of numerical, technical, analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
Excellent verbal communication and presentation abilities.
A high standard of report writing skills which require minimal proof-reading and peer review.
A range of report writing and visual and verbal presentation techniques.
Capable of working with a diverse range of technical and commercial staff and their outputs.
Ability to work under pressure and assimilate and convey information against challenging time constraints.
Responsibilities
Support the bidding and delivery of technical-commercial infrastructure finance advisory services in the water sector (predominantly desalination and wastewater treatment), to include but not limited to providing techno-commercial inputs to PPP and other forms of project or transaction advice and feasibility studies.
Carry out technical analyses and assessments for utility scale water infrastructure projects, and develop reports to a high-quality standard, with particular attention to structure, clarity of argument, grammar and presentation.
Work with senior members of the Atkins team to appropriately liaise with clients to ensure efficient and effective delivery of service and customer satisfaction throughout the project delivery.
Support on a technical capacity other members of Atkins teams to hold client meetings and workshops to facilitate project discussions, present findings and progress project solutions.
Ensure that the lead advisor and / or project manager is made aware of all developments on the commission that could influence the commercial and compliance outcomes.
Undertake technical analysis that will lead on preparation and conclusion of technical service propositions to clients.
Support the planning and delivery of broader business development opportunities.
The ability and willingness to travel and work overseas for short periods of time may be necessary for this role.
