We are looking for an HR Partner for UAE & Egypt to be based either in Dubai or in Cairo. As HR Partner (HRP) you will report to IMEAT HRP Leader and you will represent the HR Function at UAE and Egypt Countries’ leadership teams level and you will be part of the IMEAT HRP team.

-Plastics: With new technology trends, our plastic additives can be experienced in many everyday items including vinyl, blow-molding bottles, film, rigid containers, PVC plastics, siding, decks and rails, foam pipes and profile formulations, window frames and high-efficiency lubricants.

About you

As HR partner you are responsible for the successful implementation of the people priorities aligned to business and function strategy and ensures compliance with local laws and regulations, working closely with the countries’ leaders and sites’ leaders.

Furthermore, as HR Partner you help to guide leaders when making decisions. You deliver proactive guidance about managing the talent in the organization, you identify and partner with leaders to solve vulnerable spots in the talent pipeline and develop and discuss strategies for difficult conversations.

The main activities are as follows:

  • Partnering with countries’ leaders, people leaders and the sites’ leaders to listen and understand their teams’ needs and develop and drive relevant people priorities for their group

  • Strategically partner with the HR Solutions team to convey teams and leaders needs and enable the right conversations to support the teams accordingly

  • Counselling and partnering with Dow UAE and Egypt People Leaders regarding talent conversations (career progression, promotions, development, performance gaps, etc.)

  • Providing advice and consultation to the leaders and employees of their assigned scope, having a comprehensive understanding of the people strategy for that population – business, function and geography

  • Building leadership capability - Serves as a coach to leaders regarding talent actions, decisions and conversations (e.g., succession planning, talent reviews, team development, organization design, etc.)

  • Consulting and advising leaders outside of UAE and Egypt with people related matters

  • Understanding and collaborating with key stakeholders to drive Voice, I&D and EX efforts based on countries’ specific needs

  • Being a change agent and advocate to increase HR and Dow digitalization efforts

  • Supporting / reinforcing the HR model by connecting, redirecting and counseling leaders to a portfolio of HR solutions

  • Ensuring talent initiatives integrate with the broader HR Strategy and enables the delivery of strategic and operational business plans to create a consistently great employee experience

  • Knowing key talent and supporting the management of the relevant talent pipeline

  • Delivering against our local labor laws and legal requirements and maintaining/reinforcing the partnership with our employees representatives.

  • Project management skills including facilitating communication strategies as well as strong stakeholders’ management capabilities.

  • Understanding and following labor legislation in the country and ensuring Dow's compliance to local labor legislation whenever a change occurs or whenever new programs/initiatives are introduced.

  • Participating in local, regional and global HR projects

  • Participating in internal/external events to showcase Dow's brand and representing Dow to external talents.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree, preferably Master’s degree in HR or other relevant fields

  • 8 – 12 years of experience as an HR Generalist. Profiles with an experience in other HR disciplines could be considered based on experiences

  • Strong clients’ focus and employee experience mindset

  • Strong relationship, partnership, and consultancy skills

  • Comfortable pushing difficult perspectives, challenging and influencing

  • Strong analytical orientation in support of organizational decisions

  • Experience and Knowledge of UAE and Egypt labor legislations and overall countries’ dynamics

  • Active user of Dow's digital platforms such as Workday, MS Teams, Service Now, etc.

  • Fluent in Arabic and English

  • No relocation assistance provided
