- Responsible for the provision and execution of the Compliance program in Bahrain;
- Oversight of CSBB’s compliance with the requirements of CS and the CBB and other applicable regulatory obligations including any applicable AML/CFT legislation, policies and procedures;
- Performing the role of Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for CSBB;
- Acting as main point of contact for the CBB, FIU and CSBB employees to assess and escalate/report suspicions of money laundering or terrorist financing (STR) activity;
- Making external suspicious transaction reports to the CBB and FIU in line with the CBB’s Financial Crime module;
- Ensuring adequate record keeping of CSBB in line with CBB requirements;
- In partnership with Financial Crimes Compliance; assisting the IWM business in the management of AML risks;
- Representing compliance at governance meetings in relation to CSBB;
- Fostering an open and co-operative relationship with the CBB and other local authorities;
- Coordinating communication with the CBB and other local regulatory authorities;
- Coordinating regulatory inspections and internal or external audits;
- Handling the relevant CBB license processes and employee registration requirements;
- Advise on the filing/registration of relevant products with the CBB where applicable;
- Advise senior management and IWM employees in their day to day business activities in relation to applicable local regulations as well as Credit Suisse Group policies, procedures and standards;
- Ensuring the adequate training of employees through regular training and awareness sessions to promote compliance with applicable laws, regulations as well as CS policies and procedures;
- Executing an independent annual Compliance Risk Assessment (“CRA”) of CSBB;
- Designing and implementing a compliance monitoring program for CSBB;
- Investigating actual or potential breaches of law, regulation, policy and procedures in accordance with the Credit Suisse Disciplinary Policy.
- Keeping CSBB management and employees abreast of any regulatory changes and ensuring alignment with CS processes and policies;
- Assisting in the preparation of responses and periodical reporting requested either by Divisional Compliance, Regional Head of Compliance and the CBB or other local authority;
- Maintaining the Bahrain Complaints register and ensuring adherence to the Credit Suisse Complaints policy and CBB regulations;

The Compliance Officer & MLRO for Credit Suisse AG, Bahrain Branch (“CSBB”) is responsible for the delivery of this mandate to the Wealth Management (“IWM”) division operating from CSBB to enable the business to develop in a controlled and compliant manner.
The Compliance Officer & MLRO for CSBB partners closely with WM Compliance Officers in the ME&T region as well as Financial Crime Compliance and Regulatory Compliance teams of the Credit Suisse Group in order to deliver the compliance program in Bahrain..

- English language essential. Arabic a benefit
- Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills, good collaborator, inquisitive mindset and excellent attention to detail.
