Job Summary & Purpose:
The Risk Manager will oversee the organizations comprehensive risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization. The role is expected to provide hands-on development of risk models involving market, credit and operational risk, assure controls are operating effectively, and provide research and analytical support
Job Description:
- Conduct assessments- identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the business;
- To define and analyze possible risks
- Evaluate the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organization such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organization’s previous handling of risks
- Audit processes and procedures
- Develop risk management controls and systems
- Design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks
- Create contingency plans to manage crises
- Evaluate existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses
- Prepare reports and present recommendations
- Help implement solutions and plans
- Evaluate employees’ risk awareness and train them when necessary
- Manage the implementation of all aspects of the risk function, including implementation of processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks.;
- Establishing and quantifying the organization’s 'risk appetite', i.e. the level of risk they are prepared to accept;
- Risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences the board of directors so they understand the most significant risks, to business heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business.
- Providing Support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization
Qualitative Requirements:
Experience (Yrs& Field) : 8-10 years of experience in a related field
Educational Qualification : Risk Management and Financial /Engineering
Professional Certifications : Quality certifications likes Six Sigma or ISO are preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Proven experience as a Risk Manager
- Knowledge of risk assessment and control
- Experience with auditing and reporting procedures
- Strong computer and research skills; knowledge of analysis software is preferred (e.g. Statistical Analysis Software, or SAS)
- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to present concepts and guidance to business leadership;
- Ability to lead and guide peer-teams through expert/referent authority.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exemplify personal and professional integrity
