What You Will Be Doing
The Regional Procurement Manager will be responsible for implementing the procurement strategy for our chemical business in Middle East and Africa (MEA) and will deliver critical cost-out activities in the region, especially for our chemical plant in Dubai, UAE.
In addition to this role, the Regional Procurement Manager will also support Indirect procurement activities across the MEA Region.
The successful candidate will report to Suez WTS’ Senior Director - Procurement, EMEA.
Key Functions & Responsibilities
- Drive strategic sourcing plans that optimize the value of chemicals and services for the region:
- Develop and execute cost reduction projects in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders (sales team, product management, supply chain, order fulfilment, etc.),
- Partner closely with the Global Category Leaders to align the category strategy to the regional requirements to meet Direct Material Productivity targets, mitigating inflation and ensuring supply guarantee,
- Create sourcing strategies, perform regional market analysis and benchmarking,
- Lead the search for alternate/secondary suppliers of chemicals and services for cost savings in all chemical categories,
- Drive all RFQ activity and negotiations with the suppliers to maximize value and cost savings benefits while lowering risk,
- Implement the new contracts and ensure the impact of the projects in EBIT/P&L and cash flow,
- Develop and lead efforts to reduce the number of vendors/transactions for chemicals.
- Manage the overall volumes, define the business allocation to strategic/key suppliers and collect the KPIs on Financials, Quality and OTD performance in the region.
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management programs to develop, continuously improve, and manage the performance of the supply base in the MEA Region.
- Be the escalation point for the Regional team to manage issues with the suppliers in the region.
- Adapt usage of digital tools and data analytics in the region in accordance with Procurement’s global digital strategy.
- Ensure business alignment and drive compliance to ‘Procure to Pay’ processes, Quality Management System in the Procurement function, Sourcing/Integrity/Ethics policies and CSR initiatives in dealing with the suppliers.
Core Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or similar field, or equivalent work experience required.
- Seven (7) years’ experience in Procurement, Category and Supplier Management in Chemicals and Supply Chain in the Middle East Region along with solid background in data analytics and negotiation.
- Five (5) years’ experience in SAP/Tableau.
- Experience in the chemical market in India, China and Europe is a plus.
Essential Skills & Abilities
- Good understanding of Procurement methods, technologies and processes for conducting and implementing efficient/effective sourcing projects.
- Must have a strong customer service orientation with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, capable of developing presentations and comfortable interacting with internal/external stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate and influence with various stakeholders to drive common goals.
- Be effective in supplier negotiations to maximize opportunities and support the productivity plan.
- Must be resilient to cope with multiple complex situations daily with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced multicultural environment in a matrix organization.
- Accountable, organized, strategic thinker/planner, proactive and self-motivated for success.
- Positive, collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work autonomously on sourcing projects, leading and executing independently.
