Manager - Platform Development Job, NBF, Dubai, UAE

 

Job Purpose

To manage the development and commercialization of new digital platforms offering differentiated customer experience and data insights by working closely with internal stakeholders using agile development tools.

Key Accountabilities

Develop and commercialise new business platforms leveraging on digital technologies
1.    Develop outside in thinking from a customer perspective to implement open platforms for the bank.
2.    Create robust business impact analysis of platforms to justify the investments and justify returns.
3.    Construct a clear delivery roadmap with engagement of all stakeholders, track and escalate any potential roadblocks.
4.    Develop close working relationship with stakeholders especially in business and IT to identify new opportunities.
5.    Use feedback mechanisms and commercial reviews to change and optimise the existing platforms. 


Implement new approaches to platform development
1.    Usage of tools like Asana, Confluence, Slack to implement proper project management and team collaboration.
2.    Act as a role model to implement new tools like Agile delivery and help other stakeholders to embrace the same.
3.    To keep customer experience and data analytics and the centre of every platform development and change initiative.

Other Accountabilities

Innovation and external collaboration
1.    Scan the market for emerging trends and technologies to potentially benefit the business.
2.    Engage with external fintechs and vendors to develop collaborative open banking solutions.
3.    Use creative content like articles, talks to disseminate knowledge, ideas widely in the bank.


Governance and policy adherence

1.    Work closely with internal and external stakeholder (regulators, legal counsel, and risk teams) to ensure that any changes within the legal and regulatory framework of the UAE are accommodated within the bank’s product suite.
2.    Conduct periodic reviews ensure that organisation policies are not breached, and that controls in place are effective.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Experience and Skills

Passion and willingness to experiment, learn and question the status quo.

Banking experience – 4/5 years

 

Work Experience
Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in senior product management roles within the international financial services sector with experience of driving significant customer facing change initiatives. 
•    Proven record of driving effective Agile project and program management, including project planning and decision making, identifying priorities, enforcing program governance, managing resources, management reporting and bringing a wide range of projects to successful completion
•    Experience of managing a project teams from different business areas and support teams at different levels
•    Strong problem-solving skills with conceptual and analytical capabilities to deal with ambiguities
•    Strong customer focus coupled with business acumen
•    Change agent – constantly keeps abreast of market developments and business trends to explore new business opportunities
•    Excellent leadership, communication, influencing, and planning skills
