About the job General Manager

Our client is a multinational chain of QSRs (fast-food) looking to hire a General Manager in Dubai.

This position will focus on creating and executing a strategy for bringing growth to the company’s existing business along with leading and maintaining the current revenue. He/ She will be responsible to manage team of Senior Leadership comprising of functions heads of operations, marketing, finance, supply chain, human resources, IT & compliance and will report to the Board (Shareholders). He/ She will work closely with key external stake holders – Mall Management/ landlords/ regulators/ vendors and auditors to ensure the smooth functioning of the Fast Food Restaurants. 

To be successful as a General Manager, he/she should be able to manage and advance a business's strategic objectives, an exceptional leader, drives a company's strategic visions, and is adept at crisis management.

Responsibilities:

Sales & Profit Optimization: Provide strategic direction to achieve operational and financial goals

  • Ensure the mission, goals, strategies, and plans of the company are clearly defined and adhered to.
  • Develop and meet company’s financial objectives, including preparing strategic and annual forecasts and budgets, analyzing variances as well as initiating corrective actions.
  • Identify new locations/ revisit of existing stores potential to ensure topline growth.
  • Responsible for the direction of all company resources and use of assets to achieve the agreed goals and shareholder return. 

Operations: Provide operational excellence and talent management

  • Oversee activities or daily restaurant operations through the Operations Head to secure target achievements. Shall have an oversight function with regard to the whole business operations.
  • Process streamlining and optimization of all aspects of the hotel business.
  • Ensure that the operational and service skills of the employees of the hotel are being constantly improved.
  • Shall be responsible and identified as the key business holder or position for any legal matters.

Strategic Leadership, People Development and Supervision:

  • Create an inclusive culture of high performance through talent acquisition, and developing, coaching and holding your team accountable.
  • Build the organizational culture for the company through transparent communication, performance management, reward and recognition to support the growth of People & the Company
  • Support the development and implementation of human resources strategies in accordance with the Company’s People and Culture policy
  • Provide overall leadership to Managers by coaching, motivating and agreed deliverables
  • Support and implement all corporate programs and guidelines.

Driving Marketing strategy

  • Drive the development of the brand and the company value proposition.

Supply Chain supervision

  • Oversees and directs in controlling purchases and inventory as agreed with the Operations Management Team/Head; oversees and aids negotiating prices and contracts including accreditation of approved suppliers.

Essential Experience

  • Around 18-20 years of in-depth experience in QSR with minimum of 5-6 years of experience at similar role with medium to large-sized QSR company
  • Currently/ past experience of handling at least 20 stores in UAE including new stores opening and evaluation of existing stores.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a matrixed environment; with confidence to overcome ambiguity
  • Significant experience in leading others and overseeing multiple functions (eg HR, Purchasing, Finance, etc)
  • Develop a distinctive work environment e.g. setting the performance culture or standards in the organization
  • Strong influencing skills
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure delivery of the standards and the highest levels of guest satisfaction at all times
  • A proven track record of recruiting, developing, motivating and retaining a high performing hospitality team
  • Good commercial acumen with previous P&L responsibility
  • A strong personality, with confidence and enthusiasm to lead the team in the day to day running of the restaurant
  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written – to ensure clear communication with all stakeholders
  • Ability to multi task and effectively manage relationships at all levels
