Job Description
We are looking for a strong technical sales support specialist responsible for orchestrating pre-sales engagement to current and prospective clients.
The position requires a strong technical background who understands how his or her decisions impact and influence the customer’s bottom line while at the same time drive revenue.
S/HE must be seen as a trusted advisor at all levels within an account (C-Suite, technical stakeholders, etc.), as well as, be a team leader, mentor, teach, and contribute to overall success.
S/He drives or supports complex sales opportunities by translating business requirements into solution technical requirements; coordinating technical expertise; sizing, scoping, defining delivery and deployment approach, timeline, and required resources; coordinating demonstrations and proof-of-concept; and supporting internal deal acceptance.
S/He should also be able to clearly identify the business cases that will enable the sales team to target and generate maximum revenue.
S/He interacts regularly with the sales, channel, marketing, and operations teams for their territory to facilitate pipeline generation, acceleration, and closure.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert in technical/solutions design of products/services;
- Work with the Sales team to develop and implement specific account penetration strategies and achieve set targets;
- Create specific accounts for product(s), service(s) and sales plans pertaining to products/services;
- Collaborate with the Sales team in qualifying opportunities, supporting and advising on the technical aspect of the sales lifecycle including technical qualification, presentation of solution proposals and high-level designs and demonstrations;
- Run, manage and drive proof of concepts (POC) and request for proposals (RFP) and close opportunities from a pre-sales and implementation perspective;
- Manage adoption, integration and value generation of products/services within the customer/partner business and related IT infrastructure;
- Complete required pre-sales documentations in a quick and accurate manner;
- Develop content, train and support partners and customers;
- Respond to after-hours support queries during assigned rotations and escalate issues if needed;
- Put available systems into practice (salesforce.com CRM for leads, opportunity and deal registration management) for output efficiency and standardization.
- Build sound relationships with partners and customers in support of sales objectives, engage personnel and leverage corporate resources and budgets as appropriate;
- Identify customers’ queries and problems, attend to their needs and map requirements with existing solutions;
- Create training contents when and if necessary;
- Prepare and submit periodic reports and review performance with the concerned management team;
Skills
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science/engineering or related and proven technical field experience in IT industry preferred.
- Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills; ability to build and maintain business relationships.
- Requires strong consultative selling skills which pair product expertise with business, industry and competitive acumen. Solid experience with business case creation.
- Success penetrating and managing major accounts (Fortune 500-1000).
- Demonstrates solid experience delivering, presenting, selling, supporting assigned Enterprise /Commercial Clients and/or territories.
- Provides strong competitive knowledge
- Proven strong experience selling, conducting Proof of Concept (POC), architecting data management solutions
- Ability to work in a rapid growth environment where priorities, roles and responsibilities are continuously updated to meet market and customer demands.
- Experienced in participating in and building teams of specialists to support customers and sales cycles to successful outcomes.
- Basic knowledge with common Software licensing practices (cloud, perpetual, term, maintenance)
- Enterprise application exposure or knowledge of SAP, Oracle, Exchange, db2, SharePoint, etc.
- Solid knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as storage, servers, networking, cloud , hyper-convergence, etc.
