Job Overview:
Ensures that there is alignment between people strategies and the existing business' policies and procedures, updating each as required. The employee will work closely with the HR Director in developing and applying changes to the various strategies required by the function, and in line with the goals of the business.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Project specific HR Representative
- Plays a major role in the management of varied projects throughout the business, actively participating in projects teams, and implementing initiatives while simultaneously ensuring proper communication and collaboration within the allocated functions and with the HR Team.
- Member of the Project Leadership team reporting operationally to the Executive Project Director, and functionally reporting to Area Human Resources Director
- Accountable for recruitment liaison with wider ME Talent acquisition group
- Resource planning and demobilization, including placing/relocating management roles
- Utilization of HR systems in support of Project and wider McDermott Business within Qatar
- Facilitating and driving goal setting, performance management and talent development plans
- Management of staff and contractor rates including coordination of annual reviews in accordance with EMEA and Company requirements
- Point of contact for all HR matters for entire project team of 360+ employees (at peak)
- Internal communications within the Project and liaising and coordinating with the McDermott external communications team
- Driving Team and individual development in conjunction with the Executive Project Director
- Acting as the interface with Functions and line managers for resource support
- Management and coordination of employee leave allowances
- Conducted performance appraisals for all direct reports
- Organization of temporary staff, contractors and co-ordination of department databases
- Ensuring compliance to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are maintained
- Implement change processes within office administration and interface departments resulting in minimum disruption to the overall business
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Accredited relevant degree with additional ongoing education in the area of expertise.
- At least 12 years of HR experience, including a supervisory role.
- Be capable of performing standard analyses on existent people management policies and programs and drawing actionable solutions and identifying areas of improvement.
- Have an ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and be able to be discreet when dealing with confidential information.
- Have an ability to form strong connections with others, earning their trust, and hence being able to influence even in the highest-level management in the business.
- Must also be self-motivated, be proactive going beyond the call of duty and have a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
