Job Purpose
Establish technical Standards for well integrity management for design and construction phases of the well lifecycle (from the basis of design, construction & workover to abandonment). Put Measures in place and develop relevant processes to ensure all well programs (design, construction, work over, intervention, and abandonment ) are reviewed to provide an non- subjective and competent opinion on well integrity and operating policy conformance in well design and construction. Assess and approve deviation from specified well integrity standards for Design and construction phases. Participate in the review tasks to ensure adequate implementation of Well Integrity requirements in design and construction phases.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
- Responsible for ensuring that the well integrity technical standards of the organization are established, verified and maintained
- Provide confidence that the well is designed, drilled, completed, suspended and abandoned in accordance with appropriate standards and practices, to reduce the potential for uncontrolled hydrocarbon releases.
- Provide independent technical review and recommendations on well integrity issues during design and construction phase.
- Verifying the safe and consistent application of technical standards and good engineering practice.
- Knowledge of regulation, engineering standards, and industry good practices;
- Understands and promotes the company’s health, safety & environmental policy and objectives; performs work in accordance with the company’s established rules, regulations and approved procedures; intervenes to stop unsafe acts and practices; and is accountable for the well being and safety of own self and others, including all contracted labor force – unskilled, semiskilled, and skilled.
- Plans, directs and actively participates in the ongoing training and development of own self and subordinates with special emphasis on UAE Nationals. This includes assessing employees’ training and development needs, directing the preparation of structured development programs, monitoring progress and counselling trainees on alternative career paths and job profiles available in the company.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 2)
- Develop and update Tech. Standards for Well Integrity during Design and Construction phases
- Assess and approve deviations from specified well integrity Standards

- Assess and approve deviations from planned programmers and initial designs to not compromise the well integrity requirement and objectives, such that, the well can be suspended or abandoned in a safe manner.
- Advice and guide on the use of ADNOC ONSHORE Corporate Integrity Standards, practices for well design and construction phases.
- Provide input to all ADNOC ONSHORE well integrity deviation/extension requests relevant to well Design & construction.
- Operate as focal contact for systematic improvement of technical practices based on deviations, industry learning, & International Standards update
- Assure the well is designed and constructed such that it can be suspended or abandoned in a safe manner; and after its suspension or abandonment there can be no unplanned escape of fluids from it or from the reservoir to which it connected
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 3)
- Assure all components of the well are designed to withstand all planned and/or expected loads and stresses throughout the life of the well, including those induced during well activities and potential well control situations.
- Provide technical verification for well handover process as they pertain to well barriers and conformance to Basis of Design objectives
- Ensuring consistency in reporting of well risk profiles, KPI’s.
- Participate in well incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Lead and direct introduction of new technologies/ solutions to improve the well integrity...
- Assessing the competence of discipline Engineers
- Identifies integrity opportunities, sustain well integrity system improvements by recommending integrity best practices & capturing end user feedback, reporting on corporate integrity KPIs and progress of integrity implementation for design and construction phases.
- Ensure the Integration of the historical integrity data missed in the database of different systems, recorded into ePrognosis, EDM, eWellfile, ProSource Systems to develop a comprehensive integrity picture of ADNOC ONSHORE wells. Ensure all integrity requirements for Design and construction phases are captured and considered into the well integrity management systems upgrades and updates, configured into ADNOC ONSHORE master systems databases and maximizing the value added to ADNOC ONSHORE business by fully deploying the system functionality.
- Provides advice and assistance to Company’s divisions regarding sustaining wells integrity, in particular advice on Well integrity health checks post construction, Integrity Quality assurance and fitness for services.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 4)
- Liaises with Asset Development, Drilling engineering and Production operations in Assets to define the well operating limits and ensure all SOE required parameters are initially include in the ePrognosis.
- Ensure the well integrity assurance process for Design and construction is developed, maintained and adhered to. Review well integrity issues with a view to handover healthy and integral well (without integrity issues) from drilling phase to operation phase to maximize well availability within the Company Standards.
- Coordinates with Asset Development, Drilling Operations & Asset Operation and ensure compliance with integrity requirements for Design and Construction phases and in new Developments. Assists in the preparation of scope of work and interpretation of well integrity requirements & deliverables.
- Assists the Asset Development and Drilling operations to identify the strengths, weaknesses and gaps in operators' and stakeholders' QA programs to ensure proper, safe and responsible design and construction of wells.
- Manages interfaces with different business units working groups with regard to well integrity requirements for design and construction phase and implementation.
- Performs other similar or relate duties such as participating in multi-divisional task forces, working groups, incident investigation teams to deal with relevant technical issues, as assigned.
Minimum Experience
Minimum 10 years diversified experience in oil & gas upstream, with extensive experience, recognized in the oil industry, with high skills, creative technical solution in well design, Drilling, completion & workover, and high competency assessment in reservoir development, material performance, well design, and construction
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline (Petroleum Engineering, Drilling, Mechanical or Chemical) or equivalent, preferably Master.
