About The Role
- Manage the month end closing process through preparation and review of recurring entries, coordinating with regional finance team for inter-company transactions and thoroughly reviewing the general ledger activities to flag any unusual transactions
- Reviewing and validating all control reconciliations monthly completed by shared service accounting team and making sure no material errors remain unadjusted
- Establish, implement, and monitor appropriate internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS and Local laws
- Participate and lead the annual and group audit requirements with the external auditors and coordinating with Tax consultants for the quarterly and annual Tax return filing
- Business performance and planning cycle management (Monthly/Quarterly/Annual/5-year Plan).
- Review and challenge accrual process with commercial team, in terms of trade spend, returns, Discounts and Allowances (D&A), to ensure accruals are adequate and in line with accounting standards
- Perform gross margin evaluation of key decisions and oversee the modelling and approval process for price setting in alignment with strategic direction and business requirements
- Prepare weekly sales reports and effectively communicate high level overview of sales performance to date (by customer / brand) and clear view of forecast and challenges to meet the plan
- Review monthly rolling forecasts from the sales team and reconcile to business performance to identify R&Os effectively. Ensure high degree of forecasting accuracy through effective business partnering
- Collaborate with the Brand Managers, to review, analyse and provide meaning financial management information and reports including:
- Customer profitability
- Brand and house profitability
- Channel profitability
- Daily sales
- Ad hoc projects as and when requested by the teams that generate value for the business
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Finance (preferably 1-2 years in Big 4), with minimum 3 years in similar role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business, CA/CPA qualifications preferred
- Good business acumen
- Experience in managing key & multiple stakeholders
- Fluency in English. Arabic (highly preferred)
- Experience in a startup environment and working with ambiguity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel.
- Hyperion and Oracle knowledge is non-negotiable
- Advanced experience in business reporting tools
