 MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To protect and enhance flydubai’s reputation is the responsibility of the Public Relations Team. As part of the Public Relations Team, the Press Officer will be responsible for developing and distributing content to a high quality in line with the airline’s corporate and commercial strategy. The Press Officer’s main responsibility is to maintain relations with the key media and stakeholders in the industry.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  1. To support the Marketing and Communications programme in delivering communications in support of the strategic objectives of the airline. To draft all content in line with the brand guidelines, the corporate messaging and style guide to protect the airline’s reputation. To raise the corporate profile around the flydubai network in support of the business objectives.
  2. The ability to adapt communications for publication across flydubai’s owned social media channels.
  3. To maintain and strengthen excellent relations with target media, analysts and social media influencers with the ability to communicate in a timely and effective way.
  4. To develop and maintain local and international target media lists using media monitoring tools. To ensure measurement of all PR activity through daily monitoring and scheduled reporting to all relevant stakeholders. To keep up to date with breaking news, the latest developments and trends in the industry.
  5. To manage the distribution of flydubai announcements through the airline’s online newsroom and ensure it is up to date with the latest facts and figures, announcements and media contacts.
  6. To work closely with the business to identify creative new stories and PR opportunities in support of business objectives. 
  7. To work closely with our PR agencies across the network to proactively plan ahead for announcements, media relations activity around events and launches in order to achieve maximum media coverage. Ensure that the agreed scope of work is delivered on time and to the standard we expect providing feedback.
  8. To play an active role in flydubai’s Issues Management and Emergency Response planning. To take part in a managed out of hours duty roster to ensure 24-hour, 365-day service and handle all media enquiries.
  9. The ability to travel across the flydubai network to support PR activities, press conferences and events as well as media and influencer fam trips. Project manage, deliver on time and to budget.
  10. Identify relevant industry speaking opportunities in line with the airline’s spokespersons programme including conferences, panel discussions and key industry awards.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications

  • A University Degree or equivalent professional qualification in public relations, journalism or a related discipline 

Education / Experience Specific Requirements

  • Previous role held in an agency or in-house
  • Preferred No. of Years (with Relevant Degree) - 3
  • Preferred No. of Years (without Relevant Degree - if applicable) - 5

Systems, Licensing, Language or Certification Requirements

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Arabic, Russian or another language would be of interest

ISR Requirements
Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day to day business operations.
