Job Description
- Monitor and implement the company’s H3SE policies, procedures and programs.
- Develop relevant QHSE procedures and templates in local language with integration of country specificities, based on Company procedures.
- Identify potential hazards & recommend solutions at all stages of projects, including design review.
- Perform environmental screening of projects at early stage of development or due diligence.
- Supervise ESIA studies, guide business teams in populating the Corisk matrix for top management approval.
- Interface with JV partners to bridge HSE management systems together and accompany JVs towards HSE excellence in execution of projects.
- Assist Project Managers to ensure compliance by all project contractors to all relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
- Qualify new contractors on HSE point of view, review the HSE performance of contractors after each project.
- Review HSE Plans, Procedures, Method Statements, Risk assessments for the projects, & all Health, Safety & Environment related documentation to ensure compliance with Group and local requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of construction sites or maintenance areas to make sure that the activities are executed as per the HSE plan and procedures.
- Monitor implementation of environmental and social mitigation measures during construction and O&M phases.
- Assist Project Managers to implement improvement & prohibition notice to contractors and set up recommendation & corrective action (including close out monitoring).
- Lead accidents & incidents investigations.
- Ensure proper HSE training of Company staff, organize HSE promotion events such as World Day for Safety & Environment.
- Make sure of the proper availability and working condition of safety equipment.
- Collect relevant information and report QHSE data.
Context and environment
Position will be based in Dubai-UAE, with regular missions about 50% in IRAK project location:
Strongly involved into the IRAK SOLAR project preparation, monitoring, improvement plan and execution 50% of the time shall be in IRAK project Assistance from 1 to 2 weeks in IRAK for HSE Assistance to the project team and COMPANY Local HSE Team.
Candidate profile
- 10 to 12 years of professional experience involving at least 5 years in a HSE and/or project management position.
- High level of knowledge and understanding of the local regulations for safety and environmental protection applicable in the selected region.
- Experiences in the power sector will be a plus.
- Precision and zero compromise/tolerance approach on HSE and technical excellence must be proven.
- Proven autonomy and ability to manage high level contacts are required.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to be part of several project teams at a time, commitment to ethics and values, punctual, mindful and competent in adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Language English fluent. Arabic language speaking and knowledge of the Middle East Area is considered Valuable
