Role Summary: The chief information security officer is responsible for: · Planning, developing, directing, and operating an innovative, trusted, and reliable information security program to support the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information at APCO in line with appropriate regulatory frameworks and standards. He/she will work with all levels of management and areas of the business to scope and implement robust security standards and procedures. He/She will· act as the subject matter expert on security policy, regulations, standards, technical and procedural controls for senior leadership, define potential security concerns that might arise from acquisitions or other significant organisational changes. ·
He/She will be the primary point of contact for internal and external resources on IT security and security audit related issues. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop, implement, and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security and IT risk management program
  • Develop and enhance an information security management framework. Work directly with the business units to facilitate risk assessment and risk management processes
  • Collaborate with all functional and client facing areas of the business to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems and services 
  • Provide leadership to security resources.
  • Partner with corporate leadership and business stakeholders to ensure information security initiatives get the resources and positioning they need to be successful.
  • Assist with the overall business technology planning, providing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and system from a security perspective.

Requirements and Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant technology experience in a technical environment, with exposure to information security, technical infrastructure security, security compliance, ideally with experience leading and scaling a security program in a multi-office environment.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation required or other relevant industry certifications (i.e., CISM, CISA, CRISC, CHPS) · Experience of attaining/maintaining IOS 27001, PCI, COBIT, NIST or similar.
  • Conversant with multiple computing platforms and supporting infrastructure, common data security tools such as forensic utilities, log aggregation and analysis, firewalls, IPS, endpoint protection systems, patching and MDM solutions, vulnerability management platforms etc.
  • Experience implementing controls and mitigating risks related to GDPR, PCI, and other information security and data privacy standards · Experience selecting and implementing managed security services and cloud security technologies.
  • Demonstrable experience representing an organization's information security program in presentations and discussions with customers, partners, and other external parties
  • Experience of successfully managing complex change across a multi-country organization. ·
  • Outstanding communication and diplomacy skills, able to build strong narratives on security matters for employees and customers
