Synopsis
The Manager Safety and Security is responsible for all cargo security matters as well as Etihad Cargo’s quality control program. This incl. providing guidance and direction to internal stakeholders as well as to lead, direct and implement all strategic developments around cargo security and quality control to ensure a compliant, safe, secure and customer focussed cargo operations at all times.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for Etihad Airways cargo security programme is complied with by all stakeholders and liaise/co-ordinating with IATA, regulatory bodies, local authorities and other departments within the airline on all cargo security matters to ensure the airline is compliant with applicable regulation at all times
- Responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining a quality control framework, which ensure compliance with applicable processes and regulations, as well as enables identification of non-compliances and trends. Identify and implement suitable IT solutions supporting and continuously enhancing the quality of auditing tools, data accuracy and reporting capabilities.
- Work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to communicate audit recommendations, address trends, mitigate identified risks and increase overall security and compliance levels. As well as to ensure lessons learned are integrated into the quality control framework.
- Ensure all cargo security and quality control related documentation, processes and procedures are controlled, kept relevant and up to date at all times.
- Represent the airline in security forums and trade exhibitions as and when required, review new and existing security screening solutions and ensure best use of technology, regulations and innovation.
- Act as primary point of contact within Cargo Operations & Delivery for all cargo safety related matters under the Etihad Safety Management System (SMS) and support, brief and guide stakeholders.
- Responsible to manage, control and continuously enhance Etihad Cargo’s quality and compliance levels assessed by quality assurance (QA audits), incl. OGSM performance targets.
Education & Experience
- Educated to at least high school level, with degree preferred. Diploma level in logistics, security and or safety management, operations management
- At least three years of air cargo safety and security industry experience.
- Post holder must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of aviation security requirements and safety standards with a proven track record of success in security operations, safety management and customer contact/customer relation awareness.
