Head of Civil and Structural Engineering, Brunel, Doha, Qatar

About this role:

• Oversees Civil/Structural engineering discipline during FEED phase and future EPC phase, in covering all aspects of civil/structural design to ensure technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule;
• Ensures that technical requirements (such as project specifications, data sheets, procedures, etc.) developed during FEED and EPC phases fully comply with project requirements;
• Provides clear guidance to the FEED and future EPC contractors and facilitate resolution of technical issues to complete civil/structural engineering activities to meet project objectives and milestones;
• Provides engineering surveillance on FEED and future EPC civil/structural deliverables;
• Monitors discipline schedule and progress;
• The position is dynamic and requires high commitments and discipline;
• Work activities will occur in multiple office locations;
• Work activities and execution in a brownfield environment;
• Activities occur in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment which requires professional conduct and proper office protocol;
• Identifies potential problems early and develops action/mitigation plans that consider available options and balance of stakeholder issues;
• Brings experience to bear in solving complex problems in less familiar situations;
• Understands inter-discipline relationships and works toward general interest results;
• Creates high quality, accurate work products in a timely fashion with minimal supervisory guidance;
• Develops safe, fit-for-purpose technical solutions that meet the intent of project requirements.

• What you need to bring

• • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Professional registration with accredited Regulatory Body desirable (PE, C.Eng., EUR ING, or equivalent);
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in projects, in civil/structural discipline including FEED, detailed design and construction phases;
  • Experience in Onshore Oil & Gas Facilities, especially LNG plants;
  • Previous Experience with Civil works in Qatar;
  • Knowledge in geotechnical, foundations design, drainage, precast concrete, steel structures Fluent with common software applications including Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, etc.
