Systems Engineer - IT Infrastructure- Tait Communications, Christchurch, NZ
About the Role
As a member of the IT Infrastructure team, this role works with a broad range of Tait Communications systems. There is a focus on operational activities, supporting on-premises physical and virtual systems as well as public cloud infrastructure primarily with AWS.
In this role, you will
Apply your technical skills to ensure smooth and secure operation of systems and services.
Take ownership of monitoring of systems, infrastructure and backups and establish practices that lead to overall improvements in uptime and reliability of systems.
Participate in establishing a secure IT infrastructure for Tait

About You
We are looking for someone with a broad general knowledge of IT infrastructure who is looking to work in a role which provides daily variety. You will be operating in an environment where open source and Linux technologies are first class citizens but on any given day you work on Windows 2019 Server backups and then switch to a Wireguard VPN problem between AWS and an isolated customer environment (think top of a mountain or in the middle of a desert)
Tait is a 24x7 multi-national company so this role will require being part of an on-call roster.
