Process Engineer - Dubai, UAE
Main Duties :
Brevan is currently recruiting Process Engineers for one of our Clients with offices in the Middle-East. Based in Dubai, Minimum 5 years experience, you will report to the Engineering Manager and will carry the following responsibilities: • Preparation of technical proposals
• Perform and set Process simulations basis • Prepare Process documentation, such as Heat and Material Balances, Process Data Sheets, Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrument Diagrams and Process Descriptions • Prepare bid evaluation and technical recommendation of vendor
• Represent Company as a process engineering contractor in meetings with client, subcontractors, suppliers and authorities • Generate Process Simulation Models and prepare Heat & Material Balance Tables
• Develop Process / Utility Flow Schemes • Develop Process/Utility Engineering Flow Schemes and Process Safeguarding Flow Schemes • Carryout Sizing for Process Equipment and Relief Valves • Carryout Line Hydraulics and provide Inputs to Line Listing • Prepare process deliverables for a detailed design project and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Clients policies and procedures
• Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule • Provide direction and guidance on all process engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties • Liaise with the Clients Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion • Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline
• Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of process engineering design and analysis
• Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards • Experience of the application of HAZOP, HAZID and SIL Rating to Process Design • Determination to continually improve safety in all aspects of plant design and operation • Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for process engineering design and selection (Hysys, ProII, Pipesim, Flaresim etc.) • Highly motivated and self-reliant • Confident and assertive and Problem solver • Open analytic thinker and innovator • Good communicator with willingness to share knowledge and support others • Flexible and adaptable and Strong commitment to safety • Provide Process Inputs to Material Selection Report, Cause & Effect Diagrams , Alarm &Trip Setting , Instrument Data Sheets and Hazardous Area Classification Schedule • Prepare bid evaluation and technical recommendation of vendor • Train and coach staff under his guidance continuously in such a way, that they become self-starting, motivated and completion driven, all according the requirements of their function description
Skills & Knowledge Required:
Experience:
o Minimum 5 years extensive background in feasibility studies, options analysis, concept reporting and detail process design of oil & gas processing facilities (upstream) on a fast track basis
o At least 5 years detailed design experience in a project delivery environment in the oil & gas industry as Process Designer of oil & gas projects (upstream)
o Familiarity with the design and/or operation of oil & gas processing plants (upstream) and process equipment commonly used in these installations
o Experience with process equipment specifications, selection and evaluation
o Experience with multi-disciplinary teams developing detail designs and documentation for procurement and construction
o Strong communication skills with a proven track record in working within a multi discipline design teams
o Delivery focused and quality and systems driven.
o Design & Build experience an advantage Specific Skills:
• Demonstrates an excellent grasp of process engineering and process and hydraulic design principles
• Ability to apply technical knowledge & understanding to design functionality
• Capable of developing final designs from calculation notes
• An awareness of the mechanisms for integration of safety and environmental considerations in the design process
• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
• Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks, and to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Adaptable and able to react to project adjustments, design changes and alterations promptly and efficiently
• Willing to travel if required
• Strong written and oral communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of commercial acumen
• Creative approach for generating new ideas
• Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
• Previous experience with computerised design and analytical tools
Education : • Formal Education: Degree qualification in Chemical Engineering
