Our client is a start-up lottery investment firm in Dubai, looking to hire a CEO to help drive the business' growth. The company is six months old with existing investors and projects, but require the expertise of a senior-level executive within the investment management sector in the UAE to help drive the business' growth.

Description

As Chief Executive Operating Officer of a start-up boutique investment management firm, you will play an important role in shaping the future of the company. In this role, you will build up the Business Development and operations, co-shape the company vision and drive the mission. We are looking for a leader with foresight and vision who has a proven track record of building successful business operations and business development.

Your strong strategic knowledge, in the inner workings of an investment management firm, solid analytical mindset, and hands-on attitude are mission-critical to our company and you play an integral role in driving the overall success of the business. As the CEO your goal will be to build a sustainable market-leading business organization from the ground up.
Responsibilities

    Co-shape company vision and strategy with the co-founder team
    Build the right relationships with regulators and potential investors
    Attract, retain and develop a team of highly motivated people and play an important role in shaping the overall company culture
    Build and manage operations, business development, and customer success teams and cultivate a high-performance environment thriving on excellence by constantly improving the teams’ capabilities through empowerment and mentoring
    Develop, set up, test, and execute SMB sales strategies and quickly identify the ideal marketing mix and fine-tune the customer acquisition strategies together with the co-founder team
    Manage a tight loop with the product, operations and other business functions
    Build a robust understanding of the market
    Create a strategy spanning ‘where to play’ and ‘how to play’
    Build a winning team that can execute the strategy
    Maintain partner, regulatory and PR interface as necessary. The role will report to the Chairman and will be part of the leadership team for the Middle East Region overall.

What you need

    7+ years of experience at a senior level within the investment management industry
    Prior experience as CXO or other senior management roles with PnL ownership
    Preference for candidates who have spent time in leadership roles in start-ups
    General management experience of having led developed cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
    Strong and proven problem-solving ability
    Entrepreneurial mindset with strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to deal with ambiguity
    Willingness to build things ground-up and to ‘roll up the sleeves and get one’s hands dirty’
    Strong verbal and written communication skills
    Strong track record in setting up business & business development operations and processes
    You are a builder at heart. Creating sales strategies from scratch excites you. Figuring out how to solve problems is one of your favourite activities. Building, scaling, and rapidly iterating is what keeps you going
    Strong entrepreneurial drive, ambition, and hands-on attitude paired with a history of hiring and developing high performing teams in startups
    Ideal candidates have experience in investment management/ fintech and SMB (B2B)
