HSE INSPECTOR- Parsons, Abu Dhabi
Parsons extensive experience in this field combined with your emerging project safety experience will propel your career forward. We need our HSE Inspector at this level to conduct audits and inspection of work areas, machinery, equipment, and working conditions for compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. In this role, under general direction, you will provide onsite technical support for implementation and administration of assigned project safety program.
Responsibilities:
Conducts audits and inspection of work areas, machinery, equipment, and working conditions for compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
Reports incidents of noncompliance to codes and standards, and may recommend corrective actions.
Follows up to confirm implementation of corrective actions.
Ensures the availability, readiness, and proper use of required accident prevention procedures, safety and fire prevention equipment, protective clothing and devices, and first aid supplies.
Maintains records of safety audits and inspections, as well as required follow up actions.
Maintains inventory of first aid, safety, and fire equipment. If properly certified in first aide may function as first aid attendant, providing first aid care to occupationally injured or ill personnel.
Conducts new hire safety orientations, daily safety huddles and weekly toolbox training.
The Health, Safety and Environment Inspector will be site based and shall cover the following activities across multiple work areas:
Monitors the HSE performance of contractors on site;
Monitors compliance with occupational health standards and use of personal protection equipment;
Participates in internal safety reviews and site inspections;
Takes part in incident investigation;
Checks observance of the permit to work systems;
Carries out or procures specialist HSE training;
Assists HSE Manager to implement H&S standards on site;
Prepares Site HSE reports.
Conducts OSH Audits on the project
Coordinates closely with Client's Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Department on Safety requirement and reporting to minimize construction disruption on site.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
Associate's or equivalent degree in Construction or related field
Related work experience in the field of Health and Safety
Requires a familiarity with UAE and Abu Dhabi health and safety regulations and reporting procedures, SHARP Management, Parsons Construction Safety & Health Manual as well as good communication and interpersonal skills. The requirements include
NEBOSH International General certificate or equivalent
Minimum 6 years demonstrable experience in which 5 years shall be in UAE infrastructure construction projects on construction supervision role.
Abu Dhabi EHSMS training certificate (ADVETI) and OSHAD Practitioner registration
OHSMS Lead auditor training certificate
UAE Driver’s License
